  1. Thanks for that. These are photos of the present one.
  2. Hi, I have a bike with BBSO2B middrive Bafang motor. At present I am using a 48V 13ah battery and getting about 30 miles range. I want to go for longer rides and I am looking at getting a 48V 20ah battery that I have been informed should give me about 50 miles. I would like help in finding a reputable company where I could buy a well made reliable battery. I live in the UK , Nort East England. I have been looking on Ebay and Amazon there are so many and averaging about £250. Much appreciate any advice and suggestions.
  3. Hi what is meant by TSBB, thanks.?
  4. This is a torque sensor.
  5. Hi thanks for the feedback. If it was a faulty Hall sensor then would you get no power from motor at all as it is ,I can ride for 8 miles the Error 42 would come on and after switching power on /off several times, I would be able to ride away. Sometimes it would come on several times during a short ride sometimes only couple of times.

  7. Hi, could you have used your old Carrera Crossfire battery with the kit if it still had plenty of life left in it?
  8. Sorry what do you mean by 'open'. Thanks
  9. Hi folk, need some life changing advice. I am having intermittent E42 , motor/cable, error. Halfords don't check cable for fault, they change motor and cable as one, around £450. My question is, I would like to get a kit that includes wheel with rear hub, controller, and display. I would use my present battery 36V. I am looking at something that will last and is reliable. Many thanks.

  11. Thanks, will try it tomorrow.
  12. Hi , I have a working Carrera Crossfire and the wheel spins backwards on that although with slight resistance but this bike with the fault does not spin at all.
  13. Thanks for reply. I have pulled the connector apart there are no pins bent and they are all shiny and making good contact. I was not sure about the back wheel not spinning freely backwards.
  14. Hi folks, I have a Carrera Crossfie 2018 model that has an E42 fault, which is the motor going by manual. The backwheel spins freely in forward direction but not backwards , very tough. I read somewhere that if you disconnect the 9 pin plug and it spins freely backwards the it is the mosfets in controller but that is not the case. It does not spin freely backwards whether connected or not. I belive something faulty in motor hub, Hall sensors or coils short circuit. Any ideas. I am not too keen or experienced in dismantling motor. What would you advise would be the best kit for this bike with existing motor which is , Carrera Down-Tube Ebike Battery (Pre 2019) 36 V 11.6 Ah 418Wh Many thanks.
  15. Many thanks, very important information.
  16. Thanks , will try out on weekend abd keep you updated.
  17. Does that mean taking the motor apart?
  18. Hi friends, I did put a post out yesterday but cannot see it. I am 62 year old male got my first ebike over a month ago. It is a second hand Carrera Crossfire 2018 had 600 miles on the clock added another 300, loving it. I have been doing 25 to 35 miles on one charge but I want to go on longer rides I build my fitness up for next summer so I bought another second hand bike, same model and year, not working just for the spare battery. This second bike comes up with E42 which I believe from the manual is motor problem. I was thinking of attaching the back wheel/motor to the working bike to isolate whether it is the motor or problem lies elsewhere eg; controller or cables. I am concerned will me testing the motor on my working bike cause any problems to the controller. Any advice is appreciated, would like to get this second bike running of I could.
  19. Hi , first time for me posting,, looking for some advice. I bought a second hand Carrera Crossfire 2018 model about a month back in good condition and total distance done was 600 miles, I have added another 300 in the last month. This bike is working fine and it's my first bike really pleased with it. I am over 62 years old and it has got me back into cycling and going further than I would with a normal bike. I was beginning to suffer from range anxiety on my battery so I bought an exact same model, faulty error 42 (motor) so I would have a spare battery to take with me on my rides. The faulty bike I got at a reasonable price, the same as I would have paid for a second hand battery. My question is would it be ok to test the motor from the faulty bike by connecting it to the working bike , this would let me know if it is the motor or is the problem further on eg; wiring, controller etc. My only worry is would connecting faulty motor wheel to my working bike result in any negative consequences to my working bike? Any advice will be appreciated. I am hoping the motor is okay, then I can buy a controller that will run with existing battery. I believe there are controllers out there that would work with this motor, I read on a thread going back a few years. If I can get this faulty bike going ,I can have some company on shorter rides. Many thanks.
