  1. You're in the 'Speed pedelecs (S-Pedelecs, Non-EAPCs)' section of the forum - go and preach elsewhere. I think your use of the word bragging is a bit strong, but that is why this part of the forum exists so us naughties can discuss our hobby in peace without people like you getting on your high horse all the time - now shoo!
  2. That's nonsense. My first wheel I've ever built is still going strong. I've since built about 15 including two wheels with hub motors in them, one front and one rear. All are still going strong. Follow this and you're golden:- https://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html Just take your time. I like to lace it lace it one evening, true it vertically the next and true it laterally the last evening.
  3. Battery is held in with the two bosses/M5 bolts used for the cable guides and I have installed three extra steel M5 rivnuts including drilling through the metal plate twice on the mount. For more enthusiastic offroad excursions, I use a few of these to make sure the battery is extra secure. Front tyre clears the pack by 1cm at full compression. Had it's maiden offroad ride at Gisburn today, it performed flawlessly.
  4. I've not been posting here for a while, but I've not been idle! Just completed my most recent build:-
  5. My MAC motor weighed 4.5kg, mounted in the front fork the handling was fine.
  6. I have Magura HS33's on my BBS02 equipped commuter. They are as strong as disc brakes in the dry and dry the rim when riding in wet weather quicker than cable brakes. No issues with rim wear so far.
  7. Ken has a hold on it until mid Jan - I'll post back if he doesn't take it.
  8. No probs, I'll call then.
  9. Yes no problem - what time would be good to call you tomorrow?
  10. Hi Kim - sorry for the late reply - the forum doesn't seem to be emailing when I get a reply. Yup - both of the smaller packs will work with the BBSHD. I'd recommend the two 10Ah packs in 44.4v config as the BBSHD draws quite a bit of current. I can do those two packs with the saddle bag for 100 quid inc del. The smaller packs (the 15s 4Ah and 12s 4Ah) will work, but they'd get worked hard by the BBSHD and they wont last as long. With the 15s pack you have to only charge it up to 62v or the over volt protection will trip on the BBSHD.
  11. All these batteries are still available (sorry to Ken above - I don't know why I didn't get a notification for your replay!)
  12. I'm glad the Department of Transport don't agree with you http://www.roadsafetygb.org.uk/news/3319.html As for your compulsory insurance argument, that would be a barrier to cycling. Cycling is often the only option for those on low incomes and cannot afford to drive. Also, the amount of damage that is typically caused by a cyclist is negligible and thus cyclists can effectively self insure. The benefits of compulsory cyclist insurance do not outweigh the disadvantages.
  13. Another price drop - down tube battery lowered to 250, 140 for the first set of lipos and 70 for the final set. I don't want to go any lower so if they don't go at this price I'll ebay them.

  15. Due to lack of interest, down tube battery lowered to 260, 150 for the first set of lipos and 80 for the final set.
  16. I have the following batteries for sale:- http://i.imgur.com/B5i6dre.jpg?1 I had this pack custom built using LG LGABF1L1865 3400mah cells. The pack is configured as 14s4p 52v nominal / 58.8v max and 13.6 ah / 704 watt hours. Fitted with 30amp continuous BMS - ideal for any 48v system upto 1500 watts - such as BBS02 crank drive kit. Same style of battery as sold by Luna Cycles - see here for pack dimensions. Comes with UK 2a charger. I bought two thinking it would be useful but I've ended up using only one pack on both my MTB and commuter and I've only used this actual pack twice, thus it's surplus to requirements and for sale Selling for £280 inc postage - that's 30% less than I paid for it http://i.imgur.com/VdKGNez.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/Jsfp9aG.jpg?2 Next up are some Multistar lipo packs - two 6s10ah bricks and two 6s5200mah bricks, both already wired in series to give 12s (44.4v) packs. All packs have only 10 cycles on them are are like new. Either pack will fit in the pictured saddle bag for a nice stealthy install. Will work on any 48v system. Looking for £100 for the two 10ah packs, £55 for the two 5200mah packs and £10 for the saddle bag. Will sell all for £160. All prices inc postage. http://i.imgur.com/qEt91Hc.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/K8ZEHS5.jpg?1 Last up, three Zippy Compact 5s4000mah bricks wired in series giving a 15s (55.5v / 63v max) pack, installed in a hard box with balance taps accessible. Fits in the included bag that mounts at the seat tube/top tube junctions for a super lightweight, high speed stealth install. About 25 cycles on them, still capacity testing at around 3900mah so plenty of life left in them. Looking for £85 inc postage. All payments via paypal gift or bank transfer.
  17. It's a good bit of kit. This is one I have in the back garden - don't have any photos of in the front:- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/IMAG06361_zpscbea907a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/IMAG06371_zps540ba6a1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/IMAG06381_zps78d75dd9.jpg It can fit three adult bikes. I've got one adults bike, 24" kids bike, 20" kids bike, 18" kids bike and three scooters in it atm.
  18. Tell her you'll only keep your bikes outside if she install a couple of these:- http://www.asgardsss.co.uk/bike-cycle-storage/insurance-approved-metal-bike-shed I have one in the front garden - it's been had a go at a couple of times but it's resisted all attacks so far. I've also installed a ground anchor in the base so even if someone manages to get the door open, they still need to get through a heavy duty chain to take the bikes.
  19. Great day up in the Lakes today exploring the routes around Grizedale. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/20161010_1119512_zpscsi9llhx.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/20161010_1220331_zpsfymq8opu.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/amigafan2003/20161010_1220371_zpsdnrdpkdo.jpg https://www.strava.com/activities/740462792 I was with a group, so don't expect setting the Strava segments alight. Only crashed once as well! Bike performed flawlessly, although I did seem to have the forks/rear shock a tad hard - going to drop 10psi out of each. Used 310wh out of 666wh.
  20. I've found a courier that will take the lipo pack if they are split into two sets of three. It will be £10 for each battery and £25 for the wheel + other bits - so £45 in total. Happy to meet half way on postage if that's acceptable.
  21. I have posted a wheel before - it might take me some time to find some suitable packaging. For the battery - I'm not aware of any courier that would take it. Perfectly happy if you want to arrange your own courier though - I can make myself available almost any day to hand the package over. I could split the battery up into 3 parcels of 2 lipo packs and send the harness with the wheel kit if that helps.
