  2. You're in the 'Speed pedelecs (S-Pedelecs, Non-EAPCs)' section of the forum - go and preach elsewhere. I think your use of the word bragging is a bit strong, but that is why this part of the forum exists so us naughties can discuss our hobby in peace without people like you getting on your high horse all the time - now shoo!
  3. That's nonsense. My first wheel I've ever built is still going strong. I've since built about 15 including two wheels with hub motors in them, one front and one rear. All are still going strong. Follow this and you're golden:- https://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html Just take your time. I like to lace it lace it one evening, true it vertically the next and true it laterally the last evening.
  4. Battery is held in with the two bosses/M5 bolts used for the cable guides and I have installed three extra steel M5 rivnuts including drilling through the metal plate twice on the mount. For more enthusiastic offroad excursions, I use a few of these to make sure the battery is extra secure. Front tyre clears the pack by 1cm at full compression. Had it's maiden offroad ride at Gisburn today, it performed flawlessly.
  5. I've not been posting here for a while, but I've not been idle! Just completed my most recent build:-
  6. My MAC motor weighed 4.5kg, mounted in the front fork the handling was fine.
  7. I have Magura HS33's on my BBS02 equipped commuter. They are as strong as disc brakes in the dry and dry the rim when riding in wet weather quicker than cable brakes. No issues with rim wear so far.
  8. Ken has a hold on it until mid Jan - I'll post back if he doesn't take it.
  9. No probs, I'll call then.
  10. Yes no problem - what time would be good to call you tomorrow?
  11. Hi Kim - sorry for the late reply - the forum doesn't seem to be emailing when I get a reply. Yup - both of the smaller packs will work with the BBSHD. I'd recommend the two 10Ah packs in 44.4v config as the BBSHD draws quite a bit of current. I can do those two packs with the saddle bag for 100 quid inc del. The smaller packs (the 15s 4Ah and 12s 4Ah) will work, but they'd get worked hard by the BBSHD and they wont last as long. With the 15s pack you have to only charge it up to 62v or the over volt protection will trip on the BBSHD.
  12. All these batteries are still available (sorry to Ken above - I don't know why I didn't get a notification for your replay!)
  13. I'm glad the Department of Transport don't agree with you http://www.roadsafetygb.org.uk/news/3319.html As for your compulsory insurance argument, that would be a barrier to cycling. Cycling is often the only option for those on low incomes and cannot afford to drive. Also, the amount of damage that is typically caused by a cyclist is negligible and thus cyclists can effectively self insure. The benefits of compulsory cyclist insurance do not outweigh the disadvantages.
