  1. I have had may two knees replaced in 6 years I can do a 15 mile cycle ride every 2 day and no problem. But to walk 3 mile it would kill me my consultant has told me that cycling is the best exercise I can do for the lower body compared to running or jogging. He tells me he does more knee replacement on sport people than anyone else and out of them over half are runners and jogger's.
  2. I think Andrew gave a very good service when i spoke to him he was on holidays with his family and he still had time for me i am !00% satisfied
  3. It is now 2 months from my Oxygen Emate E bike lost all power 12 miles from home on a hot sunny day and me only 4 months out of hospital after a full knee replacement and boy was that a hard ride home in the heat and a bad knee. After talking to Andrew at Oxygen bikes he arranged for the bike to be lifted by TNT express at my home in N Ireland and brought to Oxygen for repair. About 2 weeks later I received my bike back from Oxygen bikes I did not receive any report saying what was wrong with the bike or what they had done regarding a repair but the service and help I got from Andrew at Oxygen was 100% I would recommend this company to anyone who want to buy a E bike as not only is the product good but the service is also . Been testing out the bike from I got it back and it is going very well I hope I can relay on this type of service in the future if needed when my bike is out of warranty in November this year so thank you again Andrew of Oxygen.
  4. Just reading this thread and i see Morphix your are getting a knee replacement you may have it done already i have had 2 replacements last one was November 2012 . Hope all went well for you it takes about a year to heal or longer . My second one done in November is not as good as the last one done November 2010
  5. No its a handlebar mount i am looking for + a waterproof case thanks for your help Pedematt
  6. I been reading about these app very interesting indeed i have a Nexus 7 with G P S has anyone found a cradle that would fit onto their handlebars to use their tablet when out cycling.
  7. Do you have this camera and what about battery lift Streethawk
  8. Ok i know this is the place where i can get some good help and advice so here goes i am looking for a good but simple helmet or handlebar video camera. Next it must have good battery life or a way to extend the battery life as i out on my bike about 3 to 4 hours every couple days. Also easy to download onto my laptop running windows vista. And the video quality has to be good so that it would stand up as evidence in court if i had a R T A. My price bracket is £250.
  9. Hi d8veh the display i have is 790 that all that is on it it has the lights at the top of display for the battery and the Low MED and high light up i hope this helps.
  10. Hi dveh i never thought about display on the handlebars as all the lights were light to tell me i had a full battery and the high med low lights all work so there software in there that controls the pedals and throttle thank,s for the information. I going away for the w/end hope to have a e mail from 50 Cycles or Oxygen when i get back as to what their going to do. might just keep sending me parts to try but i do hope they will arrange for it to go back the display on the handlebars has a No 790 on it
  11. Hi d8veh i can understand what you say but they are over in mainland UK and i am here in N Ireland if this prodlem had happened when i was out of warranty the bike would have had to sit in my garage till i was over to see my daughter in cambridge in June next year. So if it not the motor it must be the controller or am i missing something. As for a multimeter i only have a small Analogue one and that can be hard to read i had no idea these bikes were so complicated how do you go about testing the controller please.
  12. Thank you all for your replys i find it strange that this is the same fault as the first bike they sent me all lights on but no power from pedals or throttle. But a new wiring loom could it not be the hud motor or the controller the plug for the hub motor has about 4 or 5 pins on it but i don't know how to test it to see if it is getting power if it has to go back i would like to think Ougen or 50 Cycles will foot the bill as it is still under warranty when you look at my problem we need more dealers around the country . As i said before this is what i was worried about before i bought and now it has come back to hunt me.
  13. Before i contacted anybody this is what i have checked. (1) Took off battery checked all fuses checked pins at bottom of battery checked for voltage at bottom of battery all ok i would have thought all was ok with the battery as i had 3 lights up and the unit on the handlebars . (2) Disconnected the motor plug at back wheel and reconnected it still on joy. (3) opened compartment below battery checked all wiring all plugs ok . (4) all brakes working ok and sitting in the off position So that as far as i can go there is just on power at the throttle are the pedals this is exactly the same fault as the first bike they sent me had to return it they then sent me replacement for that one. As for checking the controller i would not have a clue how to do that i only have a small AC-DC meter for checking the 12DC volt battery in the motorhome
  14. As i live in NI i was worried about buying a e bike the reason because we have no backup here but i went ahead and bought a Oxygen Emate City from 50 Cycles . So was out riding on it today and 12 miles from home it stopped, no power my worst nightmare. So a 12 mile run back home in this heat and in 1st gear and me just had a knee replacement just 5 months ago i was never as glad to see my house my knee is killing me. I checked all out on the bike when i got a rest and it looks like its the motor or the controller is at fault. I sent a report on to 50 Cycles workshop i am awaiting a reply it's funny the first Oxygen Emate City they sent me did not work properly fron i took it out of the box Oxygen replaced that one now this one has stopped working actually the same thing wrong as the bike they replaced for me. So not at all happy i only use this bike once a month for a 12 to 20 mile run and that only in good weather. When i get this one fixed i will be selling it and spending my money on a good high end bike . I let you all know how long i wait before i get it fixed it will be interesting to see what Oxygen or 50 Cycles do next. I hope if i have to send it back they supply me a box and pay for the carriage each way .
  15. I have a oxygen city -mate the tyres need replaced they are 26x1.95 the one,s i want to put on is schwalbe fat frank tyre 26 x 2.35 but i need to know if they will fit. I ask in 3 bike shop and all 3 gave me different answers so some help needed please.
  16. Why is N Ireland not in the survey would you not like to know how people here think of there e bikes
  17. Look forward to see what changes there is going to be when you make the move my next job on my Oxygen is to see if i can change the L C D display to the new type that is on the 2012 models so have to contact Andrew that one
  18. Well it is now 5 day,s from i fitted my new Continental Travel Contact tyres 26x1.50 and i have had 3 / 20 miles run done on them. So what do i think of them 4 words (out of this world) i can ride the bike without power on a flat surface with no problem at all even hill climbing on power is easier overall i would give them 100% mark up. The thing i don't understand is that they make such a big difference why Oxygen does not fit them as standard on there bike,s i am now ordering another set for my wife,s bike. So again thank you to all of you that replied to my post for advice
  19. My new Continental Travel Contact tyres was waiting for me when i came home to-night so after i get my dinner i will go out to the garage and fit them on the bike so here,s hoping that there is a improvement all round i will let you all know in about a week,s time how i am getting on with them and if they were worth the money.
  20. THANK YOU d8veh they look a very good tyre but i have ordered up 2 new 26x1.5 Continetal Travel Contact
  21. Thank you all for your replies it has helped it is good to have a forum like this where there is so many helpful people
  22. Thanks for the reply Kirstins you have explained it very well i an looking for less rolling resistance, less weight but with some puncture resistance. So i think i will go with your recommendation and go for the Conti Travel Contact 26x1.5 .
  23. Thank,s Kirstins but i think other members have changed there tyre on there e bikes and have seen a great improvement in performance so hoping to here from some of them as to what is the best tyre,s to fit.
  24. OK thanks but can i go from a 26x1.9 size down to a 26.1.5 size on a e bike are do the tyres have to stay at 26x1.9 .
  25. I have a Oxygen e bike 8 months old and i am looking advice on replacing the tyres on it something that will give me less drag and make me go a little faster i had thought of something like 26x1.5 but someone on this forum will know better than me the tyres fitted are 26x1.9 Kenda/ and i would like the new tyres to be puncture resistant .
