Bike recovery ( for if you breakdown / puncture)
If you want insurance and breakdown cover and ride a budget bike this appears a value product. Also a claim would not affect your house no claims.

Schumacher's Helmet
In the past we have accepted seat belts, helmets and smoking bans so if a cycle helmet law comes in we will accept it. For my part I'm a recent convert as I now ride most days covering 50 - 100m per week. It keeps my head warm and provides a place to attach a supplementary red flashing light.

Bike recovery ( for if you breakdown / puncture)
https://www.eta.co.uk/insurance/cycle/ Quoted me Bike 1 value £750 £68.37 Bike 2 value £550 (folder) £36.16 Both include the £45 breakdown cover ie the folder appears to be free. Perhaps living in the sticks and riding cheap bikes have some benefits.

Oldman here
And 3 extra gears not a great deal for £150, no problems with my cable brakes but it is personal choice. Have spoken to the dealer below and found him to be well informed even fits the kits himself so could be worth ringing to get the exact difference. Cyclotricity Stealth - Electric Bikes

Oldman here
Hi for what its worth I would go with the Revolver it is based on a reliable kit is 36v lithium and has a throttle and is a relatively light bike. At £649 it is good value and if you need or want to change later you will not lose a great deal of money. I have a bike built round a similar kit (8fun) and have been impressed. If I was buying again today my two favourites would be the Revolver or the Woosh Santana the later has a bigger capacity battery and they supply cheap replacement batteries. Whatever you choose lets hope you are back on the road soon I doubt you will regret it

Wardys Wheels bike shop of the year.
A real "good News" story but make sure you read it all to find the shop. Cambridge bike thief spends Christmas in jail after posting stolen bike to Facebook for auction | road.cc

Oldman here
Hey Oldmam don't dismiss the stepthru it is the one type of bike that is overlooked by thieves. You could always put on a big motor and battery and leave the roadies in your wake. On a more serious note I suspect your true mates will welcome you back on whatever bike you ride.

Does anyone have one of these to sell or know where I can get one? Is there an alternative even a photo would help so I know what I am looking for?

Does the forum need a name change or change of emphasis.
Cant help but think that Electric Bike Forum would help people find the site. The rest I would leave alone, it works so does not need fixing.

Too stupid for words, really.
Above post has disappeared perhaps a favour has been called in. 'Cool Cash' card confusion - Manchester Evening News Makes you wonder how many chucked away a winning ticket. Sadly most of these will have been awarded some sort of Maths qualification by a school, which says a lot about our education system.

Thorium propulsion
After checking it was not April 1st I googled it to find it is radioactive. So peanuts to run millions to decommission. Not to mention criminals and joyriders setting fire to the evidence Oops.

Charity begins at home
I doubt this will include his pension rights not to mention his expense account. Office costs including his PA will no doubt see no change out of a £250,000. Imagine the equipment it could provide for the volunteers that do the real work.

kudos versatile
Hi the wife has one of these and I use it now and again. She swears by it and I must admit it is a nifty bit of kit. Fits into my folding bike bag and so could conceivably be taken on public transport. Also handy to chuck in the back of the car. I am no lightweight and it recently hauled me and a trailer load of shopping on a 14 mile round trip and only one red light down. Worth looking at Tesco who do the same bike different badge. Wife manages 25 miles + on a charge.

Side swipped by a van.
Nice to see the company has responded in a positive manner. Nearly missed this post any chance peerjay and flecc could call it a draw or start a new thread. Think lots of people will be interested to read the original post
