One hour to go for this cracking bike :)
Sorry Croxden it was me. My bid would have run out at £505.55 so there was not a lot in it. Suspect it will be much better build than most production bikes.

Man United Thrashed By MK Dons
No need to apologise for discussing something much more popular than religion. Pretty sure the closure of a church in London would not generate the same amount of interest. Born in Manchester and a lifelong red means I have to point out this competition is used by big clubs to give match time for the second string and introducing young blood. Agree with fleccs sentiment as do a group of ex players who have bought Salford City and the ex united fans who run FC United of Manchester's who may well emulate the Dons. Last week united paid £65M for a player. The team they played at next Burnley have spent less than that on players in their 125yr history. Result 0-0 which indicates the crazy state the game is in. No player loyalty, don't want to play for their country add the sponsorship, selling tickets, unofficial ground tours, betting scams not to mention diving time wasting. Sorry I forgot what I was going to say UNITED are still whey better than MK ;-)

Woosh - more dreadful service
Don't worry Hattie you have many supporters on this forum. To date I have received nothing but an excellent service from your company despite not having bought a bike from you. For what its worth my next purchase will be a Woosh, whilst nothing is ever perfect you and a few other dealers on this forum are a credit to the industry. Have a good weekend.

Handlebar Mounted Battery
This dealers bike has the battery mounted on the handlebars to improve balance !!!!! am I missing something? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-folding-mountain-bike-21-gears-/251536270948?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3a90bae664

Why do I read so much about spokes breaking?
Another harsh criticism of so called cheap bikes. Personally I have never spent more than £500 for a new ebike and the cheapest was £250 no broken spokes yet and enough left in the bank to repair them if it happens.

20 inch city hopper
Hi if you go for a new one make sure you buy the blue at £420 as the two cheaper models have a smaller battery. You would of course have a new battery and be able to eliminate at least one of the problems on the old bike. Agree these bikes are great value, assuming it is worth £50-100 as non runner you have had the joys of e-biking for less than 50p a day.

does it recharge while you pedal?
To avoid confusion I will just inform them it uses a KERS system similar to the one used in Formula1. Sadly it is restricted to 15mph to comply with the law.

Very Light Folding Bike
This looks like a great find. Light enough to use on public transport and the fold would indicate it would be better balanced and therefore easier to carry than the conventional mid folding design. It would be interesting to hear your view on this as well Dave. What sort of price would we be looking at to import one of these, it seems to tick a lot of boxes. Keep me in mind if you do come to sell it.

What bike was stolen?
Wow this means that about 9 out of 10 would not have been reported. Interesting considering news report about police underreporting crimes recently. Not sure what the most disturbing aspect of this topic is.

What bike was stolen?
500,000 seems a bit high and differs from crime statistics. http://ukcrimestats.com/

Slime Lovers
Slime lovers everywhere will be pleased to find Wilko now do an own brand. At £3.99 or £2 a tyre it seems a bargain and comes with a nifty self enclosed applicator. What's not to like other than the gaudy orange colour then again I'm not keen on lime.

Cheap for a reason
Not sure there are many on this forum in such a fortunate position, most have a budget and finite funds. Never been irritated by lack of choice but sometimes feel ripped off when I find that I have paid over the top for something. When things get me down I think of those less fortunate and realise how blessed I am "Even with a cheap Chinese bike"

Cheap for a reason
Suppose you are going to tell me that you still shop at Sainsbury's. At last the big 4 supermarkets accept the threat from Lidl and co as customers vote with their feet. Even the CEO of Asda has quit and gone to B&M no mug there then. Sometimes money buys quality but often it is more about advertising and brand image. We own a VW Passat but I am aware there is little difference between it and the equivalent Skoda and shares many parts. It did not surprise me that there is a VW Passat production facility in China. My first Chinese bike is still going strong and has cost less than £1 a day and this cost reduces with each passing day. The Eco at £249 with 12mth warranty will be even cheaper to run. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with people paying more the choice is theirs, what I object to is the people who look down their noses at others who are obviously happy with their purchase. Hopefully the advent of cheap ebikes will expand the market and increase the use of cycles which will benefit everyone. Nice to see Cycleeze are stocking these and undercutting Tesco. If you could reproduce those shitty plastic connectors I am sure you would attract even more customers, likewise with the number being sold there could be a thriving parts business. Just in case you think I have a vested interest in China I think there Human Rights record STINKS

I broke my battery connector
CL don't be too hasty we had problems with the battery and suspect others have too. We effected a repair and now leave battery on the bike and charge in situ. The same battery is used on many more expensive bikes. You also have a warranty with Sports Direct and the Importers Avocet seem to support their distributers well. Despite having problems with one of these bikes it has not stopped me purchasing again. They are supposed to retail at around £600 so at £250 it is a gift.

Anyone has experience with Cargo Bikes?
This one at £1450 delivered is worth a look http://www.veloelectrique.co.uk/

Anorexic in recovery :)
Hi CL. The bike you have bought is great value same bike Tesco sell for £440 and others £600+. Have purchased two for me and the good lady to keep over in Spain. The battery retails at that price. Even in mode1 it takes very little effort and it has the low step through to get off easily. Good Luck from a fellow Manc

Tesco Hopper for £340
Mine had been glued before and one they supplied me before that had the same problem. Wife liked the bike so much we just wired it in place but means can only charge it in situ. Looks like it might be worth trying hot melt.
