August 27, 201510 yr I own a fun2ride scooter 36v 10ah 200 watt bike. I looking to Give the bike a boost button to aid voltage on hills and longer runs. The bike starts off great at 40v but once it gets down to 35 volts it really starts to struggle. I under stand the controller will work up to 42 volts so figured once it drops to 35volts I can safely use my boost button/switch. I found a 6volt 10ah Battery I can use. Connecting it all isnt a worry. What im worried about is the 36 volt battery feeding back into 6v and causing damage to 6v battery. sorry I learn fast but need guidance lol Thanks in advance
August 28, 201510 yr What type of 36v are you using, if its lithium and you are only getting 40v charge it sounds like its way out of balance or some cells are on their last legs. A healthy 36v should charge to within 41.5v to 42v.
August 28, 201510 yr The main problem with a booster battery is that the controller won't shut down when your main battery is empty, so it'll over-drain it. You need some sort of voltage monitoring on both batteries to avoid killing them.

Its just that last stretch (2 mile) home it get sluggish and with winter soon approaching will need a bit better trying to avoid buying a 48v controller. yes its lithuim

Thanks for reply.. its only like the last couple off miles home on my daily commute my battery drops to 33 volts on last home stretch hill. Once on flat it pops back up a bit to 35v. so dont think I would drain batterys below safe levels.

Once it reaches 33v, it will go down very quickly.
