Sorry guys, but I don't think I'll be able to post here any more.

Just received pretty horrible, threatening email.

Feeling terrible and quite in shock. Hope all of you still having problems are able to get them resolved.

With best wishes,

Will

Copy the mail and paste it on this thread.

You should take advantage of their offer to fit the new motor sent to Bristol for you, regardless of your opinion that it will only fail again. Not doing so undermines your position in every respect.

.

i do wonder if admin of this site had such a email thus why the other thread was locked.

if 50c will not reply anymore then there is only one option left tbh.

all he wants is a bike that is reliable i mean you would not like it if the motor went 30 miles from home id be pissed right off and even worse if you use it for work.

Once again, the voice of reason. Flecc's calm and considered responses are a lesson to all - both in contentious forum issues and cycling behaviour/etiquette in general. My hero.

If you put the email up on here then it may lower your chances of getting the situation resolved BUT it may show the authors true colours..

Not good customer service buy the sound of it.

It doesn't matter what they're threatening you with, they sold you a defective bicycle and they MUST put that right. I would talk to the Citizens' Advice Bureau and show them the email as a first step to see whether in their opinion 50cycles' offer of a second new motor is appropriate.

BTW print off and keep the email. If they truly are threatening you, it will play well in court.

Not doing so undermines your position in every respect.

Absolutely untrue.

If you buy a sheet of unbreakable glass and it breaks, gets replaced by the supplier then brakes again, etc etc.

After the second or third fault you are totally within your rights to say this is not fit for purpose, so give me my money back and the associated costs that I have incurred up to this point.

This is applicable to any goods or services supplied. You have been reasonable but now is the end.

Just downloaded every one of my messages, and all of the related threads here in case I need them and they are removed.

Guys, I can't post anything on the current situation. I have a family to look after and I have to be careful. I'm sorry. If you do want to talk to me you will need to email or call. PM me if you need to.

Again, I wish you all well and will post again if things take a positive turn.

I love how without a shred of evidence produced, that you all jump to the conclusion that it was 50C that sent the email, or even that there was one.

The Pedelec forum have not contacted me and as far as I am aware there is no problem with them.

If 50 Cycles are going to send the boys round, tell them to bring you a new bike as well.

Will Tinker you have been buying bits from other sources for your bike, so you have ruined your warranty!

Another misleading post from Nigel01, who seems to be consistently supporting 50 Cycles...

I very much doubt replacing the cassette and the chain (both considered to be consumable parts) will void the warranty of any bike, electric or otherwise. Also, the bike does not have to be maintained by the original dealer to keep the bike under warranty.

Of course, if the maintenance was not done properly, then the manufacturer could object to some warranty terms, but it's unlikely to be the case for a chain and a cassette.

Its up to the manufacturer/ dealer to prove it invalidates a warranty not the owner to prove it doesn't.
I push my Kalkhoff hard and have had no problems. I think you are unlucky. I would not swap my Kalkhoff for anything else. I have been knocking up some serious miles this weekend. Only wish I had time to do even more miles. Look elsewhere for reports.
We have a couple of anti Kalkhoff people on here. As I have said look elsewhere for reports.

We are not anti Kalkhoff,if they still built reliable fantastic bikes like when they used the Panasonic and Bosch motors nobody would be complaining.

The latest models weigh a ton and have a motor that has PROVEN unreliability.I have ridden Kalkhoffs since 2011 but never again.

I've come to the conclusion that Nigel01 is somehow attached to 50 Cycles. Read back through all his posts and see what you think. Most people would say. "I'm going for a ride on my bike today". Nigel says, "I am so looking forward to more hot days to get out on my Kalkhoff Tasman" and "I had another nice ride today on my Kalkhoff Tasman". It just doesn't sound right.

IIRC, 50 Cycles have been caught using stooges or masquerading as punters before.

Nearly everything I have ever heard about 50C is bad news, and it's pretty much the same with Kalkhoff.

I have formed an opinion that Kalkhoff was once a good brand, but have lost their way. I have concluded that 50C are just dodgy.

I certainly wouldn't spend any money with either of them.

(I'll let you all know if they threaten to 'Send the boys round')

No one will touch your family, I do not think 50 cycles are MAFIA
