Yes, the postage is more than the wheel is worth. I’ve put it on my local Facebook Marketplace for £10. Collection only P.S There was a newish Big Bear on there a few days ago for £700. December 27, 20178 yr Author How effective should a rear disc brake be? This new disc gives the same result as the original. It doesn’t give much stopping power like a rim brake does. It certainly wouldn’t stop me in an emergency. For example, if the front cable broke. Would hydraulic give better braking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
December 27, 20178 yr yes, it would - approximately about twice the braking power because the pads are larger and the effort is far less.
December 27, 20178 yr A hydraulic one would me loads better. Your present one can be improved by adjustment. The fixed pad has an adjuster screw on the back. You adjust it until it's just clear of the pad, then you adjust the front (moving) pad with the cable to position it just clear of the disc. You can sometimes do a quick adjustment by loosening the two screws that hold the caliper to the adaptor, hold the brake on and re-tighten the screws whilst holding the brake on. That's how to set your hydraulic brake if you install one. It works on cable brakes as long as there's enough movement allowed in the slot. When you fit a hub-motor to the back, you normally need an additional 12mm washer on the axle to bring the disc in the right position to line up with the caliper.

January 4, 20188 yr Whatever you do, make sure that your connections are 100% reliable. If only one goes open circuit, you'll blow mosfets in the controller. If I turn that around the other way, do not operate the throttle or PAS if a motor stops working properly.

January 6, 20188 yr Author I think the easiest/cheapest way to make a 2WD is to fit a dual motor controller. KT may supply you one for sensorless motors. You would also need to replace the King Meter JLCD with one of theirs. http://www.szktdz.com/en/news_show.php?article_id=523 Not that i’m now doing 2-wheel drive but i’ve had a reply from KT. January 6, 20188 yr Author A simple tip for those that do their own maintenance. Replace your side stand with an adjustable centre stand. I have found it great for doing my motors. I have also fitted a chain slap guide but it’s not necessary to do so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

January 15, 20188 yr Author Junction box fitted to back end. Tried and tested. It works really great. I can easily toggle between motors without moving hands off handlebars. I much prefer the ride using the new rear motor. Whenever it starts to labour a bit i just switch over to front BPM motor and then back again. Second photo shows how i’ve fitted a steering elastomer damper to my bike which has suspension forks. Works great. I hated that front wheel swinging around. Now, what else can i alter.....

It was the smallest suitable switch i could find. It’s a 9-pin generator changeover switch. The only suitable waterproof housing box makes it look even bigger. It does arouse curiosity. Many people do ask “what make bike is it?”.
