I have a badass dongle i get about 33mph out of it but the problem is it chews battery like their is no tomorrow i am lucky to get about 8 miles out of the battery compared to about 35 miles without the dongle fitted at all

I have had to stop using it because i can barely get anywhere on that sort of range I defiantly cannot get to the next town where i commute too so it just pointless even bothering with it now

Their ok for a bit of fun and a bit of off-road work but a waste of time if you want to do commuting

you should get more than 8 miles what is the avg speed you are going? or lots of hills will also drain the batt but you should get more than 8 miles tbh?

Agree, did a test with battery / cadence etc and i think managed about 26 miles average 22-23 mph. The sweet spot for my set up seems to be battery eco, cadence 85-90 and cruise 21 mph get about +30 miles on flat route. Then tried 15mph, eco flat route and got near 60 plus miles. Then tried a turbo / 26mph average and got 16 miles. So many different effects on mileage inc my weight i suppose.

The average speed i was getting was about a 24mph all the time which is not bad really and that was riding on tour mode all the time

Where i live their isn't many hills at all really just a couple of big ones and that is it really

24mph average and only 8 miles is poor. It's either a very old 400w battery thats about to give up the ghost, or there's something wrong IMHO.

Which illustrates why the constantly recurring range question is so hard to answer.

"Between 16 and 60 miles" is accurate, but not what most questioners want to hear.

You've done well to flatten a battery in 16 miles, the best I've ever managed is low 20s.

The battery has only done about 26 recycles i had it tested at a bosch dealer

it needs to be capacity tested as that mileage is not right for a bosch batt that new.

i get 25 miles with my 2014 batt if i dont hammer it in turbo all the time even with a dongle.

bosch has a new capacity test box but not sure it is out yet for dealers to use.

cant the dealer let you try another batt? as something is not right.

i have recently just had two new batteries which i haven't tried with the dongle i might give it a go when the weather comes a little better and do some testing and see how i get on with it all
