December 28, 20178 yr Hi all, Long story short, I have to reprogram my BBS02 as I stupidly built a 37V 10s6p battery instead of a 48V 13s4p battery. I wanted range instead of grunt force but did not check drive specs before :O Reason for 4p is due to space limitation. Anywho, I think I might opt for one of those programming cables rather than rebuilding. Anybody got one of those lying around I could use/buy? Need it once only I think. any advice or assistance will be appreciated.
December 28, 20178 yr Firstly, you can't just reprogram the 48v BBS02 to run on 36v! You'll have to change the controller. Secondly, I bet your bottom dollar that you would use a programming cable more than once, so it's worth 20 quid just to have one in your tool box. Insat make a decent one: Bafang Programming Lead for BBS01, BBS02, BBS03/HD 1.5m cable
December 28, 20178 yr It won't work you will not be able to set the lvc low enough. The voltage settings for 36 or 48v are very limited either way to make any changes. Better off reconfiguring you battery build.
December 31, 20178 yr I second Fordulike its the best £20 you will spend if you have a Bafang, infact its an essential purchase unless you are happy with bafang restricting you.
December 31, 20178 yr LOL Well you battery problem got sorted quickly, no you cant reprogram your BBS02's battery. But you started people on reprogramming so they all put their 2 pennys worth in. You can buy a cable that connects to your BBS02 that enables you to tweak things like how much power you get in each of your settings, you can also adjust max speed(if your LCD hasn't got it internally) and Bafang set all the settings very mild, its like putting a 60MPH limiter on a BMW. the cable allows you to bypass the limiter. None of which fix's your battery problem LOL.
