May 9, 20187 yr Hi all, My BBSHD feels a little sluggish when I pedal, and turning the cranks seems to produce a rubbery sound. Is there any specific maintenance I have to do? Especially after a wet winter here in the UK? Any advice is appreciated massively. Thanks!
May 9, 20187 yr Yes. It's called a complete strip down. Salty water has most likely got in and corroded something. You need to check.
May 9, 20187 yr Before you go through the, not so easy, procedure of a strip down. Take the chain off the chainring and turn the pedals, just to make sure it's not something else in the drivetrain that's causing the issue.
May 9, 20187 yr I pulled the controller and secondary gear casing off my HD a couple of weeks ago after a winter of deep mud and snow etc. All dry and clean inside which surprised my somewhat. If your drive isn't feeling or sounding right, then it's best to investigate.
May 9, 20187 yr Author Thanks all. Will give it a go. Are there any guides anywhere demonstrating the process?
