October 25, 20205 yr I have attached a picture of my BMS its off a 52v 23.4ah Battery. Is it okay to replace with this BMS : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000918077532.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.487a1ad9GZEdh4&algo_pvid=feb84eea-9d87-478a-9631-e331f496dc2b&algo_expid=feb84eea-9d87-478a-9631-e331f496dc2b-7&btsid=0b0a555616036309462082158e4586&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ It does say on the description though "Balanced charging : NO" . Do i need one that is balanced charging?
October 25, 20205 yr Balance charging is needed other wise one can't maintain balance, though your China cells don't seem to be balancing anyway. Good branded cells remain balanced. The Aliexp one you have linked to has balance otherwise what are those balance leads for ? Does your battery have an on/off switch ?

Ah right in description it just said "balance charging :no" so they must have described it incorrectly. It doesn't have an on off switch. So you think I should order that BMS?
October 26, 20205 yr It's better to get a BMS that has the connections for a switch so that you can switch off the battery
October 29, 20205 yr Author It's better to get a BMS that has the connections for a switch so that you can switch off the battery Hi I thought the controllers would switch off the battery. I can switch it off at the LCD display.
October 29, 20205 yr Author Is this one better? US $13.90 27%OFF | 14S 45A 52V Lithium Li-Ion Battery Bms Protection Board Pcb With Balance Module For E-Bike Electric Bicycle https://a.aliexpress.com/_BT9ArW And I need to buy an on off switch too?
October 29, 20205 yr A display or controller won't turn off the BMS, it will remain live unless it has a switch. This one has the switch/wires. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32837089922.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.95483652bvGgHq&algo_pvid=85221a07-755b-45e6-b22a-f14738675025&algo_expid=85221a07-755b-45e6-b22a-f14738675025-0&btsid=0b0a050b16040058393617122ebae1&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

October 30, 20205 yr The link was only an example, you need to make sure it can handle the max current the battery can supply.

October 30, 20205 yr I think so my battery is 23.4ah that BMS is 40a so that will be okay? I hope so I ordered it ☺ Yes, 23.4ah is your battery's capacity. 40A is how much current your BMS will allow. the two are completely independent things. The 40A only has to be higher than what your controller allows, so look at the label on your controller. You need a bit of headroom, so it'll be OK with any controller up to 35A.

Ah okay mate thank you, my controllers say 25a on both of them so should be okay cheers
