Driving ban over e-scooter crash that fractured skull

Featured Replies

The court heard Pedelty had 10 previous convictions and had been disqualified from the roads after drink driving in 2021.

Actual convictions. so not only a regular court visitor, but the continual convictions, means he doesnt give a rats testicle for the law.

"He mistakenly did not see the seriousness of the incident at the time,"

Selfish, arrogant, narcissistic -

clearly doesnt not give a rats about anyone else - See narcissist above^^

Addressing him, chair magistrate Ryan Rutlidge criticised him for not stopping to check on his victim's welfare but noted his "remorse".

Remorse ??? if he had such a thing he wouldn't have 10 previous conviction.

The magistrate is easily influenced and appears to have little concept of the real world.

Bloke is a complete waste of good oxygen. Lets hope his next encounter running a red light involves a 44 ton truck.

Another victim who gets liitle or no justice , as I have said in other threads involving such incidents (where the perp shows no remorse or has little interest in how they affect others lives ) one has to take out a private prosecution and sue them for as much as one can get. Money is the only thing that makes some cry.

And sell debt to local mafia if not paid on time.

I agree the sentence was derisory. That moron should be in jail. The problem with suing people like him is that he may have few resources to take from him. You as the bringer of the case may end up paying far more in legal costs than he ends up having to pay. I sympathise with your feeling but really the matter should be dealt with properly by the criminal courts and should be dealt with severely.

Do you remember that horrible video that was put up a few weeks ago? You might have had more important things on your mind right then with your hospital matter, but a man of about forty, three times over the drink drive limit, actually pulled onto a road and drove over an older lady cyclist (well - she was about my age). He drove right over her, stopped and then tried to drive away. His sentence was utterly pathetic too. I don't think it even involved any custody and only a fine and a couple of years of being banned. This happens over and over again. Shocking.
