Hello, I’ve been dealing with error 006 on my display for a few days now. I tried a new display but same error. Checked all the connections but couldn’t find the issue. Anyone have any suggestions?

A quick google suggests a battery under voltage condition..

On an e-bike with an M5 LCD display, error code "06" typically indicates a battery under-voltage condition. This means the battery needs to be fully charged to resolve the issue.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • What it means:
Error code 06 (or E006) on an M5 LCD display usually signifies that the battery voltage is too low to power the motor.

  • Possible causes:
    • Low battery charge: The battery is not fully charged and the voltage has dropped below the required level.

    • Battery issues: There might be an issue with the battery itself, such as a faulty Battery Management System (BMS) or internal cell problems.

    [*]Troubleshooting steps:

    1. Fully charge the battery: Ensure the battery is fully charged using the correct charger.

    2. Check battery voltage: Use a voltmeter to verify the battery's output voltage after charging.

    3. Inspect connections: Ensure all connections between the battery, controller, and LCD display are secure and free from damage.

    4. Check for BMS issues: If the battery is not holding a charge or the voltage drops rapidly, the BMS might be faulty.

    5. Consult a professional: If the problem persists, contact a qualified e-bike technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.

    [*]Related error codes:

google for "Ebike M5 lcd error codes" its the display unit that decodes and display the errors so its the disoplay that details the relevant codes, dbl check your bike brand support site for lcd manuals in case custom f/w and codes are employed..

As indicated by the low battery Led on the display, low battery.

06 error is for LVC .

So either the battery isn't charged or if it is, one likely has a faulty controller and probably a duff voltage regulator.

First, get a meter and check whether you have 5v on any of the wires where it should be - red wires on throttle, pedal sensor, hall sensors or anywhere else. Report back when you've done the check.
