May 9, 2025May 9 OK amI right in saying that the RM number CO10250D 15 1 under thatF6V2040933 are the number you mean so 15 1 at the end is the speed ? I assume as it’s Bafang it’s a very good quality motor are they ok to go up to 48 V for a bit more torque? The number 15 indicates the number of turns on each pole. 15 is quite a slow one, so good for 48v. https://bafang-e.com/fileadmin/Images/support/588359deb88c5cc9520e979df8f6dbe6-1.pdf

May 15, 2025May 15 Author Just had contact from the original manufacturer of Bird Bike Batteries Hunan Wisdom Company . They say both 9.6 AH and larger spec batteries use the same Canbus System so should be compatible with bikes sold in the UK Problem is they have or did have before Tariffs a MOQ of 50 pieces according to from a contact in the USA. If any one looking for a replacment original battery get in touch .
June 11, 2025Jun 11 Author Hi all I have now found and bought a non functional Bird bike battery the bike had done about 2500 miles before the guy scraped it. Photo attached. So for the proposed new build on the bike I am planning to replace all the cells and and put a non Canbus BMS on it so I can put the KT kit on and keep the Bafang Rear Hub drive as the rebuild looks like a low miles bike . Any help before I take to the battery company would be appreciated. Safely opening the battery . And possibly just dropping in a new battery replacement pack complete with non Canbus BMS even if I have to buy a whole new battery to remove the battery pack from Available drop in space without opening is around 330mm X 45mm. I would like to get it up to around 14AH as I have been advised that there is not enough space to fit 48V. I intend to sell the bike once finished so have to keep an eye on the budget Hopefully this will post will assist other members with Bird Bikes or Vanmooth in this style who can not get new spare parts anymore and think a new e kit is the way to go.
June 11, 2025Jun 11 What warranty do the battery company give, and what liability do you take on when you sell on a modified bike and battery? I think you need to be quite careful: you seem to be running a business working with risky things and basing your technical knowledge on forums and the like.
June 11, 2025Jun 11 Author Battery company give different warranty s on their work . But as of yet I do not know if they can re cell the battery with a new BMS that will work with standard kits . I do not see why not if the Canbus communication is taken out . Seems a shame to split the bikes up but that is probably what will happen . T

T Morning Matthew Would you have a problem with a battery that’s brand new with all its original components in place just effectively having a change of case so a simple re connection of positive and negative input and out put terminal s if the work is done by a competent person and providing a fit good could be found? And any battery pack replacment was a good fit ie with no movement for instance . Using a lower end of the market brand like HL that has no Canbus communication but is considered safe enough to be sold in the UK. Around the £200.00!mark What would actually could cause any potential risk or danger in your opinion?
