November 27, 2025Nov 27 I haven't seen one in the flesh yet but reports very local to me of couriers using the Citkar EAPC. Capable of 230kg loads, pedal only and rated 250w.
November 27, 2025Nov 27 Capable of 230kg loads That's a lot of honey. Likely cost a lot of money. Do the Chinese sell cheap knokoffs of these, and do any fold small enough to fit in the hallway? https://www.bloomit.earth/portfolio/citkar
November 28, 2025Nov 28 Amazing how a mindset can shift in just 5 years, My first thought seeing the above pics was 'wow i could reduce the supermarket trips to a bi annual chore with one of those', when pre 2020 i would drive down on a weekly basis religiously.

Someone with sufficient skills could replace the motors in this sort of cheapo with those twin Heinzmann 125W hub motors saneagle mentioned, which have more beans and are more can-do; get it certified as a bonafide EAPC to prevent some dumb rozzer from having one's £Xk investment crushed. Blurb states 300kg to 400kg capacity. It does not fold. Dance festivals can be fun, unless it's Morris dancing. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/The-Latest-Delivery-Bike-Four-wheel_1601581610351.html https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/The-Latest-Fat-Tire-Semi-Truck_1601627167133.html https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/OEM-Electric-Pedal-Motorized-Cargo-Bike_1600194179355.html Edited November 28, 2025Nov 28 by guerney
November 28, 2025Nov 28 When they eventually take my licence through old age, I might get one of th8se ebike trucks, just out of spite.
November 28, 2025Nov 28 Author I haven't looked in to the specs of the quad EAPC but if it has say the bosh 250w mid drive ;) that can give some 800w output then placing two smaller Heinzman motors wouldn't be needed. In the main one suspects these will be used locally with a hub nearby and they will support local deliveries in large towns /cities where terrain will relatively be flat. I'm waiting to see them appear in my large town pop: 180k. Nearby there are Evri, DPD and Amazon distribution centres. But yes in response to d8veh , they could be a serious contender for transport is a licence is revoked.

The first two could do with windscreen wipers, the third a wider handlebar with end bar mirrors to avoid cycling blind oblivious about traffic terrors lurking behind. While UART BBSXX(X) motors remain available: Nutcases on ES are tinkering with open source firmware on BBS02 controllers to get 1440W - bung a BBS02 controller on a BBS01 250W rated motor, for however long that lasts, and bob's your uncle for flat terrain with the odd climb. I've seen ebay dudes offering to replace BBSXX(X) controller components for uprated, though windings might burn. Or install some other non-Bosch mid-drive. Or go twin hub, however that's done with Heinzmann for more beans and can-do. Or buy a single hub motor from Grin, pay extra for "250W" laser etched - they say all of their motors are rated 250W. They might be perhaps persuaded to rate and etch two motors 125W? Product listings often confuse package weight with kerb weight, so who knows what these things weigh. All of the ebike trucks I linked above are 48V, replace with suitable a 250W rated motor(s). Alternatively, products on Alibaba are often sold direct by factories, with customisation offered sometimes, therefore it might be possible to order for less than the quoted price, without motors, controllers and cheapo batteries... Citkar a tad over 13k euros . ... and the conversion wouldn't cost a freaking 13k! Edited November 29, 2025Nov 29 by guerney
