Thursday at 18:035 days Author So first of all, should I take the disconnected balance wires now and connect them all to B+ ie 10 , 11 , 12, 13, 14 Then make a connection from B10 red to main B+ to ?
Thursday at 18:585 days Author So now I can get into quick menu on the left in parameters. Another 21 photos !!So if I can get around this abnormality message, then I think this can be set. Photos to follow..Or I need a Uart cable to keep power in the BMS whilst the settings are entered manually?
Friday at 00:225 days One of those screens showed "Cell count" set to 14. Try changing it to 10. The rest of the settings don't affect your problem.
Friday at 11:474 days Author Morning ok I will do that when I finish exercise .For any one who is taking note of this thread please find attached the QR codes that come with the BMS this is the only information or instructions.I have also invited the shop on Ali B to have one of their technical team take a look at the thread whether they do or not remains to be seen I would’ve thought they might.
Friday at 11:494 days Author I Forgot to hit submit on the last message this morning .😂🤣Right that seems to have sorted it out .I am on voltage calibration do I mirror what it is now suggesting it should be ?

Do you have one? If not, I'd leave it as it is. It'll be close enough. As I said, try doing the setting for "Cell Count" to 10S on the system page, and see if it fixes your issue. Friday at 13:194 days Author Yes done that .I went through all the settings on the left of the parameters page and mirrored everything that it was suggesting it should be. That’s what I saw on a video for this brand of BMS although it was a much larger 24 V battery.I’m just going to say if it will charge shortly as if I’m correct it is supposed to recognise everything. The Ali barbershop seem to be ignoring me now not very good customer service.!
Friday at 13:224 days Author Sorry no I do not have a calibrated meter just the balance charger you recommended but I have yet to find time to get it out and set it up I was also waiting for the balance leads to come as they did not come with it .
Friday at 13:264 days Author Oh but first I am going to sort out all the rewire to a much better standard now am getting somewhere many thanks again
Friday at 14:024 days Author Before I do that every thing else seems to set except Charge Mos when I try to switch it on it comes back set up failed .Plus the battery will not charge red positive lead of the charger connected to the main positive battery terminal and the black negative wire of the charger connected to C- BMS .So for some reason, I’m not sure of it’s not letting me switch on the ability to charge the battery through the BMS.Discharge MOS IS SHOWING AS ACTIVE HOWEVER I WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO DISCHARGE THE BATTERY UNLESS I WAS USING THE BALANCE CHARGER. ?
Friday at 14:424 days Author Do we need to do any thing in here different menu option pls see attached

Friday at 17:594 days Author Yes 100% done that pls see attached .Charge Mos on first screen is on off and I do not see how to switch it on .I will screen shot and upload all the settings again that are now set ?
Friday at 18:074 days Author Ok seem to have done it setting voltage calibration.I thought I had done that I will see if it will charge now
Friday at 18:174 days Author See attached this is now real time .Once I get it finished I will test it out on an STL model Carrera Vulcan and see how it performs. The wife is happy as she thought I would have to strip out her Cannondale

Saturday at 08:584 days Author Morning I am just finishing off .Charging it now with the original charger currently balancing at 41.81 volts .I just switched it off as I thought it would have stopped at 41v Just to be on the safe side as I am monitoring it thought I would check.Pls see attached 80000984973__6581CB9A-17ED-4F36-9D96-A7DA9C2C9401.MOV
Saturday at 09:264 days Author Not on this one as it’s Bluetooth and is not needed .But on a standard BMS replacement I was thinking of using one of these attached that I found on Ali as you loose the power indicator when you change the original BMS boards Again no information or instructions with them so I assume without checking yet that they would connect to the main battery terminals .Or C- and positive terminal charge discharge wire ? Quite a lot of messing about though to get a decent water tight attachment to the case in place of the original on and off switch .I think there is room for an off and off rocker switch opposite the charging port .Some fuses on input and out put wires of the battery should be considered I think ? But first I have to test this out on the road and finish the wife’s Cannondale so I can get my bike back and set the saddle ETC as I like it 🤣🤣

You can put it on the bile wherever you want, not just on the battery. All my batteries have charge level indicators on them, but I've never looked at one during the last 10 years. I don't see the point, when you have a charge level display in the LCD. If I have a battery off the bike and I 2wnt to know its charge level, I use a voltmeter, which is much more accurate
Saturday at 12:133 days Author Sometimes I have to check the 48 Yose HL battery as it shows charging the LCD but when I check on the actual battery it’s coming to the end. It’s so not that accurate on this particular set up. I think I might go for one of these Bluetooth ones in it if they prove to be reliable as they are really reasonably priced at around 20 quid each..
Saturday at 12:343 days Author Just put it out side to finish it off .It’s great to be working back outside what a horrible winter we just had stuck working in my spare room .I am going for a spin on this customers bike with the battery shortly last photo he inherited it with bits missing .we have some decent hills in Gladstone park near by or I might go up to The Free Masons Arms in Hampstead good 3 miles of up hill and have a naughty pint of Guinness when I get there .They are not a bad bike I think the older Carrera are better than the later ones .
Saturday at 12:523 days Author All done fully charged and the charger switched off when it was supposed to.Cheers
