it was always the plan to put the cx motor on this thing and peter made it happen and 24hr postage as well :cool: got it on in 30 mins and can feel the extra 15nm that the cx motor puts out than the 60 from the performance motor. old motor on the box and new one installed, felt a bit stiff...

old motor was 60nm the cx is 75nm, and gen4 motors are now 85nw but they wont fit the frame as different mounts.

Everything Bosch is a ripoff! They don't do cheap. Sell your Haibike while it's condition is good, then get the Bafang ETM kit and a secondhand mountain bike, to make a ebike which is cheaper to buy replacement parts for?

With the extra torque of the ETM, you could replace the front chainwheel with a 60T and go faster than that (probably), which is something I was thinking of doing. There's even a 80T.

The etm will blow if you go above a 52 t and run it hard as soon as you remove the 15.5 mph limit its no longer legal
The newer bafang use canbus and need a dongle or different software

if you want fast buy a bbshd 160 nm standard and with the 30 amp mod 1700 watts

the small chain ring is 2.5 reduction so in normal size it would be a 53t. and 10 at the rear.

the gen 4 motors now use normal size chain rings.

1700 watts would get me killed, fast. I think that's deffo Soundwave's patch! I stick to boring UK legal - the one time I derestricted my bike, it was frightening and far too much fun! Everything fun is illegal... well, nearly everything

s class bosch motors are the same inside the only difference is they cut out at 28mph.

my dongle cuts out at 36.5mph so it is pretty much geared to that speed but would be classed a r,race pedelec under law.

You might pedal a bit funny, but you could fit that onto your Haibike... doesn't mention weight.

My BBS01b does great with 52T (to 11T), but I only use highest gear when I have high cadence - I'd gamble a 60T on a ETM... if the controllers were about the same price as they are for the BBS01b.

What you want with a highly illegal motor like that on an ebike, is for all the parts which make it more than a 250W, to eject off at the sound of a police siren...
