I have a few questions if anyone could help me

1.can i remove the rear gear hub on the motor wheel and use the Shimano cog from my Rockrider......
if not will the ebike supplied cog/hub cause any problems with the Rockriders shifting system Sram i think mine has 9 cogs the ebike kit has 7

2.also i would like to use my own brake levers as the supplied ones look and feel cheap what type of cable do i need is there a standard interface cable ? My brakes are disk mechanical i think

3.Will the Rear disk fit onto the ebike hub do they have standard fitting holes.....

Thanks sorry for all the questions i'm totally new to all this would like to fit the kit to the highest possible standards and safety guidelines.

Good questions.

No, Your cassette won't fit. It's a free-hub fitting. the motor is a free-wheel fitting.

You're correct. Changing from 9 speed to 7 speed won't work. Your best solution would be to get a new 7 speed shifter. Your derailleur will probably be OK with that, but you might have to change it too. If you get one of these, it'll make more room for your throttle, and you can then use one of the suppled ebrakes with switches. You might as well take off the shifter on the other side because you'll never need it unless your battery goes flat:

The freewheel gear-set on the motor is to low. You'll see what I mean as soon as you start pedalling. You need to find a DNP 7-speed freewheel.

The disc will be fine.

When it's all installed, you might find that the rim is a little off-center in your frame, so you might have to re-centre it by adjusting the spokes (dishing).

A very good upgrade for your bike will be hydraulic brakes. Cable brakes struggle a bit on a normal bike where your average speed is 10 - 12 mph. If you go over 20 mph, you'll see why I recommend hydraulic ones, which are in a completely different dimension.

Basically, if I were doing that conversion, I'd chuck everything from the handlebars, and install new brakes and a 7 speed shifter. When choosing the brakes and shifter, think about where the throttle will go. Some shifters/brakes have more room for a throttle.

Welcome to the world of bike conversions, where nothing is as simple as it appears. Some people don't do any of what I suggest, but soon realise that they converted their bike to a dangerous POS, so they put it on Ebay to get their money back, and in the advert they extol the virtues of its 30 mph.
