  4. Most uk/eu compliant ebikes are set this way out of the box. So post in the classifieds in here that you want a basic 15a controller and anyone who has upgraded a working controller could off load their old one to you for nominal beer tokens.. OR?? If you invest circa £100 probably more the way things are .. in a KT controller and display which is highly configurable you could 1) apply a config password which will seal off one button access to setup. 2) configure the bike to operate within eu/uk regs 15 mph speed cap and throttle on when pedalling only etc.. 3) when you want to go faster or use the throttle as 'normal' provide the config p/w and change the settings accordingly without saving the change.. and if you get stopped turn off the bike so it will restart with the default uk regulation compliant settings in place and fixed behind a config password, which you dont know, wink wink! Might be worth downloading a kt lcd-xx display manual so you can see if your up to the chenglish challenge!! tho if you get stuck some of us have been there too and muddled through ok ;)

  7. That guy was fortunate as he 'says' UK ebikes are highly regulated ????? His by what I can see isn't one of those and is modified DIY lash up job. Look like an old modded oxygen or Wisper model.

In absence of a speed control device most displays will have 6km/h walk assist mode, walk assist is just that a low power walking mode not designed to propel a rider.

  17. I look forward to that! As I said... ... and nobody has ever been fired for choosing Helvetica, accepted everywhere like American Express, readable yet stylish, not too stylish, depending on the variant... but I bet zillions have been fired for choosing ARIAL BLACK - could you possibly make profiles using Helvetica, Arial Black and Times New Roman throughout in black for those of us with more maximalish readability requirements of varying degrees? I think Helvetica on this forum throughout in black for all users would be a good choice. Potential new users wouldn't be put off by the "I can't see what that is" factor. Even the current Nunito(?) in black would be an improvement.
  18. That's a pretty compelling ratio, grabbed my attention. This £350 cheapo is reportedly noisy, a brain mashing 95db is stated in rewiews. https://www.screwfix.com/p/blyss-a018i-12ch-reversible-air-conditioner-12-000btu/835xg I'm tempted to try one, to move heat in winter from room to room as required, kitchen>hallway>living room would be useful, reduicing electricity used by the fridge. Later, living room>hallway>stairs>bedrooms. Anything with fans is irritatingly noisy, becomes increasingly annoyingly noisy (unless they're magnetic levitation bearingless fans, like the ones in my new PC). Cladding the unit and ducting with 12 inch noise absorbing rockwool panels on all sides minus the intake, would make it all rather too big. I suppose I could build out a short squat unit with rockwool panels, to fashion an easier to move comfy wheeled sofa or large Ottman, get a chair lift for the stairs. Motor vibrations would surprise guests with butt massages. Stuttering guests are always more interesting.
  19. Works here on unadorned Firefox 139. On Linux Mint you can program this for text highlighted anywhere so quite possibly there's a way to do it in Windows. Liking the What's New? button. Less keen on the What Did I Just Write key (control-A control-B).
  20. @Pedelecs Admin has kindly been experimenting with my view of the forum, to include more Helvetica in black. Where that works is effectively an improvement for readability - when it doesn't, I increase the size of everything in browser view, by holding down "CTRL" and "+" buttons. "CTRL" and "-" if too large.
  21. For some reason the forum was using my personal gmail address to send emails. I've changed this now.
  22. I've switched you over to another 'theme'. I'll probably end up making a few available so members can choose their favourite.
  23. The old forum used o allow highlighting text to Google search with a right click, for some reason there's lurking Javascript preventing that on this forum software... until I disable Javascipt using a Firefox addon.
  24. If you're able to test the battery capacity by discharging it that would be a good starting point. A KT controller with a decent display comes to something like £40 to £80, a replacement battery if needed could be well over twice as much.
  25. You can use any Chinese controller, as the 9-pin connector is standard. It's a shame you only showed the controller's label because that doesn’t help us understand what you have. A photo of the whole controller would have been a lot more useful, and a picture of the bike. I always recommend KT controllers because they have very nice pedal assist functions and other useful features.

You have to look at the instruction manual for your LCd. Look at the number on the back to find out which model it is.
