Strange that Halfords have listed a lesser spec battery !.... I would have thought they would want their Carrera Ebike to appear as best they can. So theoretically, i guess i could just keep the throttle from my current kit and keep using it on future kits, seeing as its from a kit bought before Jan. I dont really care about the legalities, as if i want to use a throttle i just will..... but i like theorising loopholes to get around stupid...

So, seeing as my kit was bought & fitted pre January..... I take it i can legally use the throttle for as long as i like then ?

I wonder how many ebike owners will be abiding by this law and disconnecting or removing their throttles come January ? I suspect many will just treat this legislation with the contempt it deserves and carry on throttling regardless.

Removing a crank is a piece of pi$$..... but then again, i'm from a generation of kids that had to work on our own bikes.

I like the fact they reckon removing the crank is 'the most complex part of an eBike conversion' WTF ? Something as simple as removing a crank should not ever be called complex.

The only tools you need is a 'crank puller' and a 'bottom bracket removal tool'..... the bb removal tool will vary depending on what bb you have. Both of these tools are widely available and cheap on Ebay. Just to note..... to have enough room to fit my magnet disc on the chain ring side, i had...

I'm gonna fit the pedelec on my bike today, for the last couple of years i've only had the throttle fitted. Gonna see how it suits me for the next month or so. If i decide that i cant do without a throttle, then i'll just stick to fitting kits in the future instead of buying ready built ebikes...
