    Lightweights Pfft!

Lol, you do tend to forget how light non powered bikes are. Luckily, I've still got enough brawn to lift the bloody thing over obstacles. I still can't seem to negotiate those half moon gates with the swingy bit in the middle though :(

Changing when PAS kicks in on BBSHD

IIRC, change the Startup Degree(Signal No.) to a higher value in the Pedal Assist page. If you have brake cut-offs fitted, squeeze the brake lever slightly when pedalling up a kerb. This method works for me.

Barbed wire stretched across bike trail near Crewe

http://pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/welcome-to-the-north-east-bring-your-puncture-repair-kit.27545/ I'd rather deal with a puncture than decapitation

Welcome to the North East, bring your puncture repair kit!

Just thought I would post some pictures of the kind of mindless thugs we have living amongst us. I'm sure we in the North East aren't the only lucky ones. These photos were taken on a part of the C2C(7) in the Sunderland area. As you can see, someone has kindly spread broken glass across the...

Thoughts on using high intensity flashing red light during day

Believe you me, they have had the 'what if' argument rammed down their throat, but apart from informing the DVLA, there isn't much else one can do. Good old human rights sees to that  No more hijacking of this thread, sorry OP. If anyone would like to continue this topic, feel free to...

Thoughts on using high intensity flashing red light during day

A great idea in theory, but so many drivers think that it's their right to drive and not a privilege, that it would get massive opposition if the government tried to make it law. A relative of the family has a condition where they have dizzy spells, which can come on at any time. They have...

Thoughts on using high intensity flashing red light during day

Good idea. The reason why I think that high intensity strobe lights used at night are not safe, is this. The human eye responds relatively slowly to light level changes at night. The iris simply cannot respond quick enough to a high intensity flash of light, then immediately dark again. It's...

Thoughts on using high intensity flashing red light during day

Totally agree. Just to make it clear to others, I am referring to flashing lights only. I think using suitably bright solid lighting, day or night, is a great thing. I'll switch my front to high (non flashing) mode, during the day, if the weather is overcast. The rear will also be switched on...

Thoughts on using high intensity flashing red light during day

As a cyclist and a driver, I am not keen on flashing lights, front or rear, day or night. Gaz is correct in his observations in post #5. There is simply no need to be flashing like a Christmas tree to be noticed during daylight hours. I drive home from work 5 nights a week, and as I have...

    what hub kit?

Give the forum forum members an insight into your riding intentions, so we can better help you select a suitable kit. What's the terrain like, how extreme do you ride? etc.. Also, would you prefer a front or rear hub motor, and would you consider a crank drive set-up? A photo of your bike will...
