My friend took his Decathlon front hub bike for a short ride in the rain. It developed a lot of noise which he tried to stop by filling the motor with WD40... At this stage I come into the picture.
I did a short test ride and effectively the motor was much noisier than when I picked it up...
I had seen this before but today got into the detail a bit and several ideas came to mind.
1. this is safer than my trailer on the open road because it is the width of the bike with panniers
2. easier to navigate some of the cycle paths I use than my trailer
3. as one of my panniers is already...

Home builds up next?
I was mooching around the ciclotek web site and discovered this new 8Ah battery solution for vintage bikes. I like the look a lot. The charging port is on the right hand end of the bag. I was thinking about leather bags for my frame at one point too, just needs to be weather proofed.
11-50... with a 60 tooth chainwheel on a bicycle that would mean speeds from 11 km/h to 58 km/h but in a vélomobile you should be able to spin up to 80 km/h for short bursts
I have mentioned in these pages that I am the happy owner of a Google nexus 7 2013 tablet and that I was having battery issues. In May of last year I bit the bullet and bought a new battery, opened the tablet and replaced it. I thought I was out tof the woods but unfortunately one of the reasons...

An American kit for the Catrike...
Silly me I thought a Google search would help me find a cheap 16" rim for my trailer.
Finds lots of wheels but I don't need a wheel just a rim. Finds a few overpriced aluminium rims for Brompton's and the like but I just need cheap and straight...
Any ideas?
As there isn't a section for bike equipment (...) I'll put this here
Yesterday I went to Ikea for the first time in a year to renew sheets and pillows and plastic ware for the kitchen etc. and on display was the Ikea bike and trailer. The bike seems very expensive for what it is, even with the...
I was sitting here reading the forum and mulling the idea whether to go and chuck a line in the bay and overhead there are a huge number of cranes heading for Africa. Is it cold up your way? It was 26°C here all afternoon I think I have a slight sun tan...

Changing 25km/h and 250 Watt
This fresh start means dropping what in the past decade has been THE parameters for e-bikes – 25km/h and 250 Watt. Neupert pleaded, “My view is that we have to consider what the right and good speed is for e-bikes. At that we also have to take into...
