That's the one! 7.66 kg wow

I should add that unlike a folding bike that is build to be carried that I don't really understand, within reason, say around 15-20kg the need to get a touring/mountain bike weight down given that you don't need to carry it and once you put luggage on it the weight shoots up anyway ? Regards Jerry

That's the one! 7.66 kg wow

As I have said many times on this forum, I am a big fan of carrying only the battery size/weight that you need for a trip. My daily use (10 mile round trip commute) DIY battery weighs 1kg, 36V, 3.0AH and will give me around 15 miles albeit in flat Cambridge. I also have a DIY 2kg, 6AH battery...

Need a new rim in my rear BAFANG wheel !!!

Where do you live ? I would suggest new rim, spokes and a rebuild. I can build wheels and I guess would do it for cost of parts if you live close. I am in Cambridge. PS Front or back ? Regards Jerry

Very cheap new folding ebike on ebay

Very short reach and thus, I suspect, very uncomfortable to ride in all but short 1-2 mile journeys. Jerry

    Handle Bar Bags???

I am really not a fan of heavy carry weights added onto steering. I guess a small bag with maybe 1kg of weight would be ok. Why don't larger wheeled bikes have welded lugs on the header tube so that a basket or bag can be added without loading the steering I guess its easier with smaller...

Yes you will need to attach those five wires and get a suitable programming lead. That is why I got the lyen one for that reason and now just buy the cheaper ecrazyman one. Jerry

    My Second Brompton E-Conversion

10.5cm * 3.5cm * 6.5cm. Probably 13cm if you include a flat mounting flanges on the top and bottom end which you can cut off to decrease it to 10.5cm. Here is the lyen one outside its case which would reduce the measurements even more though obviously for higher currents the heat sink needs to...

    Brompton front hook problem

No not seen that. I guess a heavier motor might do that though the hook is not really carrying all the weight when folded. PS the original hooks were a metal loop with a plastic covering. Jerry

    Brompton front hook problem

When you keep undoing and doing it up the nylon thread inside gets torn/worn. I am assuming you have the two metal plates installed correctly. To repair the nylon thread disassemble and squeeze in a few drops of super glue. Poke it around a bit with an old nail or something that will fit in...

    Stoke Monkey Brompton

Hey kitchenman really nice to see you posting again. I miss your unique posts and this latest one is certainly one of them. Its amazing you actually managed to fit that to the Brompton and maintain the fold. It reminds of the film the Fly where a Cytronex kit and Brompton have gone through one...

    Mwmotor brompton conversion

You can get away without the extension block if you remove the rubber cover and just wrap up the shaft end and wire with the spring cover on it with self-amalgamating tape. Jerry

    Worth a watch :)

Of course what would have been more fair is if all bikes had been raced on regular roads/cycle paths. I suspect the 6K bike would have faired less favorably. Jerry

    Brompton Wiki
