    Brompton electrification

Paul, just had the expert answer from Catsnapper about the spokes: "The spokes I was waiting for were out of stock everywhere, the supplier in fact supplied the wrong ones in the end. TBH, they would have made very little difference to the wheel as the spoke holes are too large for any normal...

    Brompton electrification

Yeah, that was a loaaaad of work and hassle. It's almost there. I'm sooo excited. Paul, the motor is a mini motor from Conhismotor: http://www.conhismotor.com/ProductShow.asp?id=76 The wheel has been laced by Catsnapper. He can do it for you for a fee. I prefered to ask for someone as I've...

Why did you or why will you buy an electric bike?

For an easy way to travel from point A to B with the minimum amount of hassle. EBikes have the advantages of: - being able to go over traffic jam - allow me to forget about the overpriced and slow london tube - easy to park - ability to bring it inside buildings - ability to carry it home - no...

Solowheel, a new type of bike?

for my brompton, I'm getting my wheel laced now. As soon as it's ready I'll keep you all updated :) This thing seems interesting. But I wouldn't pay more than £500 on it. 1890$ seems to be the official price and it's way overpriced

    £20 Ebike Battery

Jerry, obviously you're very handy being able to do that :) Why don't you get a lipo setup? It would be lighter and because you won't use a lot of amps you should have several hundred of cycles out of it. The zippy compact from hobby king have now up to 168wh/kg!! HobbyKing R/C Hobby...

Solowheel, a new type of bike?

I've just seen this: SOLOWHEEL BC products, buy SOLOWHEEL BC products from alibaba.com Seems to be around 300-500 euro in alibaba. But on goldenmotor it's around 1890$: hub motor, brushless motor, brushless dc motor, BLDC motor, bike conversion kit, brushless controller, brushless motor...

    Hydraulic Disc Brakes Solved

Ok thanks. Doesn't solve my problem with the disc always bent on the wrong position. Somehow I think for bike it's maybe an overkill as scottyf said.

    Hydraulic Disc Brakes Solved

Why do you mean by "they don't need adjusting"? I suppose the disc would still bend from time to time or rub against the caliper. Then you still have to adjust it?

    Hydraulic Disc Brakes Solved

What's the advantage of an hydraulic disc brake compared to a standard one? And I suppose if I have brake pad, the upgrade won't be possible?

Bargain of the Year Torque Arms

I know. But that's fine because it's made for 24V and I overvolt it to 74V. If that's not enough I can still increase the voltage

Bargain of the Year Torque Arms

I think it's me being not clear :) I plan to fit this motor on the brompton: http://conhismotor.com/ProductShow.asp?id=76 The axle diameter is 10mm. Shemozzle, for now I'm only using this mini motor so that should be ok. Depending on how this motor perform I may get a bigger one (bpm or...

Bargain of the Year Torque Arms

It's a standard 10mm axle so it shouldn't be a problem for that. I was mostly wondering about the brompton. £750 is a bit high for torque arms :p gonna wait a little lol

Bargain of the Year Torque Arms

Thanks John. I'm so impatient lol. Do you know if it would fit my brompton rear dropout?

Looking for a Folder up to £750

Do you need a folder to carry it on a car or on a train/public transport? If it's the latter, you better get a folder you can easily roll such as a brompton. You can get it at around £400 second hand. Then get an electric kit and it would probably be much more convenient.

    Cheap Dahons On The Bay

Why don't you try to put a bigger motor on it? I would see a nice BPM 500W on the rear wheel. This bike is made for strong acceleration anyway. Time to taste some speed :)
