Finally solved the problem. The controller was moving inside the frog box. I just glued it to the metallique bar to prevent it from bouncing. Now everything is fine :)

Thanks for this explaination Dave. So what would happen if the motor is give 20mph max speed at 36V, and that you double the voltage (74V) in order to reach higher speed? Would I loose a lot on efficiency too?

I think it can be quite simple to do that. The only concern is to have everyone agreeing on a standard. I usually always ask the seller what's the max distance at full throttle (no pedaling) on flat road, no wind and for a 70kg rider. Once I have this number it's easy to compare.

Yeah, helmet and lights should always be present. The 2 things I hate the most on the road are the pedestrians (unaware) and the truck/bus (they don't care or see you)

I'm hesitating.. I also purchased the mini hub motor from Conhismotor. But they may take forever to send it to me. I'm just afraid the cute 128 couldn't handle all the power. I'll probably melt it at 1500W and it's not sure it can go up to 25-30 mph.

The collision would have happened weather it's legal or illegal. Even at 5 mph, if someone just jump on you on the last moment there is no way to avoir him.

Isn't that quieter and smoother only because the motor is smaller? If I get a stronger cute motor (I'm thinking either about the cute-128 or the Cute-12 1000W) wouldn't that be as loud as a Bafang?

Thanks for this nice report Dave. When you say it's better than the Bafang, is it just because it's much more silent, or is it more torquy or more efficient? How's the torque compared to a Bafang? If I get a cute128 do you think I can do wheelies on a Brompton? :D

Walking on the road without looking at cyclists is a serious problem. It happened to me many times, and even during the daylight!!! Hopefully, until now I managed to avoid them on the latest moment!!

Ok, just did it with my plier. Repackaged everything into the battery box now. I'll try tomorrow to see if it's fixed.
