News: Bosch announces 2016 e-bike system features

Tim, you could have shown the cross bar version, not the ladies. ;) When it comes to integrated batteries, for me BH win the day. Just a shame that they generally use such low spec components, and have such poor back up.

News: Bosch announces 2016 e-bike system features

To be fair to Haibike, any bike would feel boring riding around Richmond Park. :) Also in the case of Haibike, that blandness could be interpreted as German dependability, which many like the feel of and want. Edit.. Rob, Bosch batteries aren't without their issues either. I've got through two...

News: Bosch announces 2016 e-bike system features

I'm more shocked to see that they have stuck with the small sprocket size*, that across brand, actively encourages chain suck in off road conditions, potentially wrecks the outer bearing of the motor, and when pedalling in eco and unassisted modes, wears rear cassettes and front sprockets out...

    Kalkhoff Pro Connect. Impressive range.

Yep, and why wouldn't they. :) Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages, and it's certainly not possible to state that one system is better than the other. It simply comes down to personal preference, and mine is for hub drive. You have edited out the comment that you made to being...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Just to add to what Rob has already said, is there a possibility that you had knocked the plastic cases, and that it was just a rubbing or even a simple resonance noise from the casing? When you re-fitted the 16T, the cases might have then settled back into place without you even noticing. If...

    New kalkhoffs

They would probably have looked nicer if the battery integration and continued up to the headstock area. It could even have then been made into a useful little storage compartment. See below.

And that horrid green scroll arrow keeps appearing on the screen and blocking everything. Why do we need that feature?

A different perspective of Tour racing.

I love watching the TDF, and have been getting into the run up by watching the 2015 Tour De Suisse. Looking at the catch up clips yesterday, this clip from the 2014 series cropped up. Brilliant stuff. :)

Same on my android phone as well. Can't get rid of it, and half the forum has disappeared to the left of the screen. The latter happened a week or so ago.

Amazing story about one fellow eBiker's journey...

Loosing weight through the use of riding a pedelec is something that I have seen mentioned several times recently. It's an odd concept to think about when associating an electric bike to the clear and obvious health benefits that go with it. I think that unless you have experienced this benefit...

    Thule pin adapter/socket

Thanks all for the replies, and thanks for your input as well Martin. I went down to our local caravan centre yesterday, and they sold both pattern and Thule OE version. I expect that the un branded one would have done the same job, but for my peace of mind I opted for the Thule OE one. :)...

    Military-grade e-bike

An Oset at about £1,800.00 would do pretty much the same job and be more durable. For some reason I was kind of expecting to see something like the Swiss Condor, but with a motor.

£499. Brand new complete E bike.

No idea about that one, but the bike that did catch my eye this week was one being sold by the Electric Bike Company. The Vita-Uno26 @£695.00 The details were enclosed with the magazine that they were kind enough to send out. The mudguards as shown in the brochure don't do it any favours though...

A working dongle - at last

It'll make it an equivalent of ten more teeth than I have for off road use, and my bike is still over geared running a 15 tooth sprocket. Thinking about it, for my Swiss trip I might swap out for a 14 tooth set up. It'll be dry enough at this time of year, not to worry about the chain suck...

    New: Electric Bike Magazine

Mine arrived yesterday, so many thanks for that. The enclosed brochures etc, were more interesting than the paper. :)

    2014 KTM Macina Fun 10-400

2014 KTM Macina Fun 10-400 Forum link http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/bikes/2014-ktm-macina-sport-10-400/ This a generic photo of the model, but shown in high cross bar format. The bike as reviewed, is the low step version. Whilst this bike is detailed as a 2014, so is a last years model, this...

    And the kitchen sink

Forgot to add lights. :) The last train down from the top of the mountain is at stupid early O'clock, and want to place a memorial plaque at the base of the Eiger for a guy from another forum who used to cycle the area. His final months and days were pretty sad, and somehow I feel that I owe it...

    Punctures............

Can't argue with them being very thin, so I can see where you are coming from. The WTB's are pretty heavy, but I still had three failures due to flint cuts. Two sealed almost straight away, but the third took about ten minutes to seal, and the bike looked like it was throwing out a Catherine...

    And the kitchen sink

I forgot to add that I already have one. ;) Most of the kit will be just staying in the car, but I bet that there will be something unexpected that I have missed. I'm also taking along a spare battery and spare charger as well. Thinking about it further... As I have been too lazy to get around...
