    Save BRIGHTON'S VELODROME

You may want to register the velodrome as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011 just in case the council does decide to sell. This gives six months leeway whilst "the community" attempts to raise funds to buy it. Also tends to dissuade developers as it involves delay. See...

I'm beginning to hate (some) cyclists

It's a British thing. Cycling is a sport, not a means of transport. It is a view promoted by govermments and various sporting bodies (CTC, Sport England etc) which is why we spend fortunes on velodromes and TdF starts and very little on segregate bike lanes. There was an interesting piece in...

    2015 rumours???? pre-Christmas fun!!!

    How dangerous is cycling?

I often drive - and sometimes cycle - in a hat. It's not the hat that matters it's the head that's in it.

    Intuvia without reset button

We are talking about bikes here - one of the simplest and most efficient machines ever devised. We have stuck an electric motor on it to make cycling a bit easier. Why do we need to complicate matters with dongles and factory reset routines? With cars, electronics have made them more efficient...

    Rear View Mirrors

B&M Cyclestar mirrors. Small glass but very stable for attaching to North Road / moustache/riser bars where you can't use bar ends. Being German they are a bit pricey, but you can buy spares, if needed.

    The EU, In or Out.

Could we please have an in/out referendum asap? I believe that the majority will be to remain in. It would have the added benefits of splitting the Tory party in two, and sending Nigel Farage back to which ever lounge bar he formed his opinions in.

Aldi puncture repair canister.... First try!

Few years ago I bought a £20 mini pump. Could have done better just blowing into the valve. Now have a £2.50 Wilkinson full size, old fashioned pump, which just works, though for a full inflate i do use an elecric car pump.

    Number Plates for Bikes Again

Jim doesn't lower himself to rodents. He does however have a fan club amongst the local school kids who save their fish & meat sandwiches to feed to him. In addition to the three or four houses he dines in. If he is ever on TV, it'll be Rough Traders.

    Number Plates for Bikes Again

Yes, but can we discuss serious issues - like cat licensing. My neighbour`s cat contributes nothing to the maintenance of the streets he insists on lying in.

    Alan Henning

I don't think that this is the time for a debate on the existence or not of a god. Let us all salute the courage of Alan Henning, who, in a very practical way, was trying to improve the world just a little. And let us be vigilant against those who tell us that theirs is the only way, which...

There's always something with a bike

Is it worth converting a scooter to 750/1000 W? By the time you've bought the motor etc, possibly upgraded the brakes, registered it with DVLA, insured it, bought a motor cycle helmet etc, wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy a petrol scooter?
