I have a Yose power front wheel conversion kit is it possible to change assist level's in the computer, I find the level between 2 and 3 to big.

Hi. There is two versions of that kit. I am familiar with the older version only. Its fitted with a Kunteng or KT controller and LCD3 marked Y01. There is a setting C14 which affects the scaling of P1 to 4 with torque imitation control (P3 must be set to 1). C14 is normally set for 2 but in your...

Building new rear for mountian bike

You did not say what sized wheel your mountain bike is. But assuming that your wheel is 26 inch (iso559) and the erd is 534mm as specified in your Andra 40 link, the grin calculator works out (I think, a quick look) at approx 189mm...

Rear hub problem, shouldn't the rotor move with the wheel?

Usually the rotor moves in the opposite direction to the wheel. Is this the case? Usually you can check the mechanics of the wheel/clutch of a geared motor with power off, the wheel should move freely in the forward direction (motor wont turn) but with some resistance in reverse direction (motor...

bosch 400w end of life report

How many Km or miles have you clocked up? I am just wondering what the expected lifespan of this motor is. The warranty of 200 charge cycles seems low. (Halfords, for example gave my daughter 2 years/500 charge cycles on the cheaper Pendleton)

    Changing Rim Size

Its actually only 1/2 inch all round. The 26 inch rim is ISO 559mm and the 27.5 inch is ISO 584mm which is 25mm or 1 inch total difference on the rim bed/when tyre size not taken into account. The reason I think they called it a 27.5 inch rather than 27 inch which would be more accurate in our...

    Changing Rim Size

Dont forget, with Disk brakes, its possible to fit a 26 inch wheel into a 27.5 inch frame. The actual difference is only an inch in diameter or half inch in radius. This can be compensated for if you wish by fitting a wider 26 rear tyre. And there is no law that says the front wheel has to...

    Pondering on motor power ...

I dont have direct experience of Shimano but sometimes bike with torque sensors don't reach full power if the sensor is not properly calibrated (or the rider has weak legs.) https://www.shimano-steps.com/e-bikes/europe/en/faq/troubleshooting---errors-

Cheap chinese cells (How bad are they really) ?

I think there is also a safety issue in using unknown cells If you look at Samsung cell spec, although misuse of cell is not recommended, nevertheless, they are tested to withstand certain fault conditions as above. A combination of cheap untested cell from an unreliable seller and a similar...

    Yosepower kit - battery

Actually, that a very good result. Even brand new good quality Samsung cell often test about 5% under there nominal capacity, as shown in link below. https://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Samsung%20INR18650-35E%203500mAh%20%28Pink%29%20UK.html

Motor - stated RPM, windings question?

It all comes down to Faraday's formula for induction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday%27s_law_of_induction But I can make it simple. The electric motor acts like a generator when its in motion. It generates a voltage often called a back emf (electro motive force) that opposes the battery...

Vintage Peugeot Carbolite 103 - suitable for a conversion?

Re. Front conversion. I was considering and measured up a front conversion on a Falcon Bike lately for a standard mxus xf07 front hub. There was a few problems which made this not viable in my case . Firstly, the vintage front axles were light 5/16 inch size (8mm approx) and there is not enough...

Motor - stated RPM, windings question?

The TSDZ2 seems to have a small but very dedicated following who are prepared to go to all lengths in terms of both hardware and software modifications to perfect this motor for there needs. On the other hand, some people seem to hate this motor. Personally, I think its all about choice and what...

Motor - stated RPM, windings question?

Grin has an article on (hub) motors that might help. The principles are the same. Your mid drive motor is much smaller because it runs much faster and uses the 2 stage internal gears to multiply the torque by approx 40. https://ebikes.ca/learn/hub-motors.html Below is max power/torque curve of...

TSDZ2 Fixing Block - difference to Bafang?

To be fair, the Bafang and TSDZ2 are not the same. The TSDZ2 contains a torque sensor that built into the spindle/axle. So the torque sensor, spindle, bearings and shell has to be accommodated into a bottom bracket shell that's only 34.8 mm in diameter. Defenders of the TSDZ2 argue that this is...

THE NEW PERFORMANCE CX RACE, FOR EBIKE RACING

By the way, there is an argument thats its better to leave things as they are. These complicated rules can be said to work in favour of the user who wants a bit of extra power.. Any revision could result in a further restriction of power and make it easier for law enforcement. From a road...

THE NEW PERFORMANCE CX RACE, FOR EBIKE RACING

The German forum has more info on same. The 48v max is to reduce electrocution risk. Its always mechanic power thats measured. There is no actual direct limit on maximum power. I have translated for your convenience. This I presume is the European standard. I'm not sure how much of it is...

THE NEW PERFORMANCE CX RACE, FOR EBIKE RACING

Power (Watts) = Torque (N.m) x Speed (RPM) / 9.5488 If you read, for example EN15194, its the mechanical output power that measured under certain conditions. (Its rather complicated).

    TSDZ2 Conversion

I have the 36v version and similar experience. But I do have a throttle that seems to work and gives full output. In my case the problem is with my legs. They are not strong enough and this will limit the motor output, as the torque sensor setup only gives a limited multiple of the the riders input.

Current pricing is likely a bargain compared to pricing in 3 months time

Ah I remember...The price of the pint of Guinness doubled in the space of a few years in the early 1980's. Its Deja vu for me.
