    Woosh Revisiting my first conversion

Yep motor connector right to the line, not checked inside the battery compartment that houses the controller. This is a 201 rpm motor i think (no load unrestricted speed on full battery 19mph) I have had this before on completely different e-bikes with different batteries and different...

    Woosh Revisiting my first conversion

So my very first conversion was 2 years ago. I fitted a Woosh XF08c kit to a Claud Butler step through bike (with rim brakes !) It has a 36v 20Ah rack battery with I believe a Lishui 18 amp controller built into the battery housing I was very pleased with it and my niece "borrowed" it to...

I may never bother to pedal again ;-)

Ok, was pretty straightforward, 280rpm 36v tbk-100cst (claimed 30Nm !) + Hailong 17.5 ah 36v Panasonic battery Total weight including battery (according to my luggage scales) 16kg Wheel built by arrow wheels, they did a good job 2 things that stopped it being completely trivial, 1) motor...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

Maybe : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205393403936 Or if you can find a relatively light (maybe without front suspension from a weight point of view) step through bike with disc brakes as a donor bike, fit a kit to it (or get someone to help fit a kit). Just for example, this is a womens...

    E bike advice

As you begin pedalling the motor starts assisting, you can have cadence sensors (that detect that the pedals are turning) or torque sensors ( where the motor assistance is proportional to how hard you pedal) There are hub drives (Wayfarer H7 ) , where the motor is actually inside the wheel or...

    Suggested kit for conversion

yes - step throughs have to be a bit more solid because there is no bracing cross bar - looks a lovely bike - happy pedelecing - I think that was a bargain

    E bike advice

The Wayfarer sounds a good bet for that sort of mileage, with the reassurance of good customer service and support. There is also the older Wisper 705 that is a lovely bike and built for high mileage (my wife has the 2019 model and it runs like new) Worth talking to David @Wisper Bikes - he...

    Disc rotor bolts

Thanks - the motor did come via the wheel builder but there were no bolts with it - The standard ones are M5*10, I have ordered M5 *8 round head allen via your link

    Disc rotor bolts

Another question - what's the best thing to do when you are swapping over a disc rotor and the bolts from the original are too long for the motor wheel. I've used a 'rotor spacer' but are there slightly shorter bolts available ?

Are the KT controllers slightly pessimistic as far as battery level ?

Just been on a 15 mile ride on my folding bike with a 36V 10Ah battery and KT controller / display, it is showing half full battery on the KT display, when I measure the voltage with a multimeter it is showing 38.9V

    Suggested kit for conversion

Let us know how you get on, the one question is the frame size ? I know step through bikes are more flexible in terms of range of sizes but they come in small, medium and large. 5'6" would fit medium or small

Review of £360 Argos E-Plus bike

I think that is the only hub motor I've seen rated at 800w It seems very good value but heavy and doesn't conform to the pedelec regulations

    Suggested kit for conversion

That looks a bargain ! The adventure 1 is very high spec. Big battery, just check it hasn't been left for years without use or charging. Worst case you'd have to replace the battery ETA it says brand new conversion with 1 year guarantee Looks a bargain to me

    Suggested kit for conversion

That is very similar to the donor bike on my first ever conversion and it was great and had a lot of pleasure from it, then passed it onto my niece who used it to get round University. Yes, rear battery rack would be good, just make sure it is mounted as low to the back wheel and as far forward...

    Yose power

Yes, I am a KT convert but , if I am remembering correctly, the Lishui controller was a bit more gradual than all or nothing, as you slowed it gave you more power and as you speeded up it gave you less power, although there was really quite a narrow speed band that you ended up in for each pas...
