    ALDI - Winter Cycling Deals

Like most others I found the Summer Aldi fingerless gloves ridiculously small for the sizes stated. However the winter gloves sold last year seemed just right. Not the best winter gloves in the world but fine for somone like me who bottles out at about 2 degrees C and gets in the car.

    ALDI - Winter Cycling Deals

You're right where would we be without those great deals at Aldis. Can't believe it's been 12 months since the last winter give away. Winter gloves for me as well. I lost one. Nice to see you're still around. :)

Wisper 905se City 2000 mile review.

Hi Vikki: Enyoyed reading your review of SB while tucking into my lunch. I take it thats 15 miles a day return - 7.5 miles each way. Thinking about it that's a daft question since SB would going like the clappers if it wasn't:eek:

    Bike by Train?

Thanks Keith. I've often wondered how the bike and train thing worked. Might try it sometime with the Brompton. :)

    I love my Ebike

I think the motors are very well sealed so should be no worries there. :)

    I love my Ebike

Those photos make me feel quite envious. One thing though. Don't you have a problem with all that sand getting in the works - especially gritting up the chain?

Groan. So bad it made me laugh. Flecc you walked right into that one. :D

New to e-bikes - Buying decision - Help Needed

If you go for the Ridgeback get Cytronex to size you up for the right frame size and try the bike before you leave. The trip to the station is ideal stuff for this system and you'll only need to charge it every 3rd or 4th day. I don't think the extra RPM will make much difference over 4 miles in...

    I love my Ebike

Do they sell battery assisted e-walkers - Robo cop style? :D PS yes I enjoy a good walk esp cliff tops where the grass is nice and springy

New to e-bikes - Buying decision - Help Needed

Yes another member pointed this out to me recently. When I last looked the Cytronex site still didn't make this clear. There's a few regulars with the newer system who might chip in with some usefull advice regarding the system restarting after braking. I have tried it and I can't remember it...

New to e-bikes - Buying decision - Help Needed

I have the Trek which isn't sold now by Cytronex. This bike is not pedelec only but rather has 2 speed buttons which provide power regardless of whether you pedal or not. I believe the new system is Pedelec only but does have some useful enhancements like providing power automatically after...

    I love my Ebike

Sounds great and pretty much sums it all up. Lot's of people don't know what they're missing. Makes me wish I lived near the coast though. :)

    Schwalbe Tyres

Looks like you're very hard on tyres. To be fair the roads round these parts aren't too bad and as long as I keep a look out for hawthorn trimmings, bits of metal, and broken bottles I'm ok.

    Schwalbe Tyres

Ha ha. Yeah this is the bit that always gets me and takes me inordinate amounts of time to sort out. Also involves finding my reading glasses and a magnifying glass and something to put the water in that won't annoy my wife. The Presta valve turned into a life threatening high velocity...

    Schwalbe Tyres

I carried a can around in my Smart car for 7 years - you have to there's no spare tyre. When I did need it all it did was gush out and show me the tyre wall was shredded around the outer wall. The slime inner tubes for bikes look like a fair idea though especially if like me you can't...

    Schwalbe Tyres

I have the relatively cheap Bontrager racelite hardcase tyres that came with my Cytronex and they've been ok. They're triple kevlar protected slicks and have a harder rubber down the centre. with softer stuff on the sides for grip round corners. I've had a couple of punctures but nothing...

    Schwalbe Tyres

All depends on what your local roads and byeways are like. If they're not to bad I'd go with the Marathon Plus. I have no suspension on my bike, Aluminium forks and 700 X 32 tyres at 110 psi and I don't have a problem. Mussels does a serious 18 mile each way commute into London I believe - so...

Cycling is like brushing your teeth

I'm completely in agreement Phil. I've commented on this in another thread believing that some subsidy should be in order for people out in the sticks with no decent alternatives. My gripe, if you can call it that, is with large towns and cities where far too many monstrously large cars are used...
