    Handlebar change

Thanks guys. Might need something like that once I can ride it again. Main thing was to try and get my wrists at a better angle, so moving my elbows in a bit hoping to remove the strain from my neck.

    Handlebar change

Oh double bum! The rear brake cable is too short as well. Of course it is, I mean these bars are a whole 30mm wider - who'd a thunk? Times like this I almost wish I still lived where the lbs was just round the corner, but then I look out of my kitchen window!

    Handlebar change

For some months now I've been suffering with my neck, both spine and muscular. So I,ve been getting massage, which has been helping. But a ride on boxing day confirmed what I suspected, my straight, standard bars were not helping, despite having bar ends to change position. So, having read a...

    Oversize frame, my options?

The way I deal with those things is to dismount and rotate the bike onto it's rear wheel, so the bars float over the top. Quite a an achievement as I have a front hub. My wife has a Big Bear and that'e even worse. Wouldn't want to be cutting down the bars though, it will effect the handling.

    E-Bike storage?

In an uninsulated shed, condensation will be the problem. The condensation threshold is round about 10 degrees C. It can form on the underside of the roof and drip on anything beneath, especially if it's a metal roof. Strangely, ventilation will help but not prevent. An unheated garage would...

    New ebiker need an advice

For the best reliability I would say a rear hub is your best bet, though others will disagree. With a hub there is no extra strain on your drive train so chain/sprocket wear will be as an unpowered bike. If installed with cable exit facing down, there are practically no water ingress issues...

    New ebike owner

Hi Dave and welcome. Have to concur on the psychological effects of an e-bike in latter years. If ever the NHS gets to see the benefits I could see them on pescriptio......not.

[Driving Test] Mid-Drive+Torque Sensor VS Hub Motor+Cadence Sensor

Mine is an Ezee hub, I find first start (after turning on) takes something over a complete rotation for power to kick in. Thereafter it is nearly instantaneous. For low speed control I use the throttle. It seems to me that it gives full power when fully open. If used gradually it gives...

would like to contribute to politics of road-sharing

I was in Cardiff yesterday and saw some of the painted on 'cycle lanes', which were parked on, driven over and roundly ignored by all. Where there was a cycle path specific (in the redeveloped bay area) there was the usual abrupt 'Cyclists dismount here' sign as the path approached a shared use...

    Getting rid of drones

That is seriously depressing and scary. How is it thar humans find a way to weaponise everything? Which will be the first national police force to use one against their citizen's?

Hello from Yorkshire, with one million questions

Only a million questions, c'mon you're not really trying? Front hub is the easiest imo, nigh on bullet proof high reliability for commuting. Can be a bit tricksy on v.steep loose or slimey surfaces. But generally on tarmac perfectly OK. As said, reckon you won't be taking it of - it's just too...

Bosch frame fit Battery replacement type

You'll have to be more specific. What bike is it? How old is it? Pictures of battery holder (minus battery) would probably help.

    Lights

If you show a picture/details of the controller there may be more help available. It's likely that the output is far more than 6 or 12v.

£40 light bulb vs £2 light bulb

I seem to remember seeing a TV programme about the early introduction of electric lighting in America. If memory serves, it was in the 30's that lamp munufacturers got together to discuss the fact that their lamps were lasting far too long and their profits were suffering. This resulted in a...

£40 light bulb vs £2 light bulb

My whole house is now led's. Couldn't wait to get rid of those bloody awful cfl's and their extended warm up period and their naff light quality. Always use either 3000k or 2400k colour temperature to get that halogen like colour quality. Have 8 in my kitchen a grand total of 40watts, whole...

New Member, hoping to convert to an e bike

All my bikes are front hubs, easiest conversion imo. My riding is all road (hilly West Wales) very occaisional track. Front hubs can be a bit tricksy on loose or greasy very steep surfaces, but for the most part all you get is some slight scrubbing on very steep road. Nothing an experienced...
