    Whisper 905se Cutting out

Ahhhhh there's your problem, 3 or 4 days without charging?!? These batteries don't like being run to flat. It's best to charge little and often. Too late for your old battery, but for your new one charge it after every journey if you can. At least try not to run it to flat!

Rant: State of our (UK) roads

Well if the council didn't spend all their road budget putting in unnecessary speed humps...

How many miles per week do you cycle?

    e-Bike Test Rides

Woa Bob, sorry my comment was meant in jest! It did seem to sprout out a bit though... Naturally you can place any limits you like! It's your bike(s) after all.

    Helmet weares only

Further on from Mussel's comments, I think the most important thing to say is "THE ONE THAT FITS BEST"! Pretty much all other considerations pale into insignificance compared to this. (Hence don't buy a helmet mail order unless you've tried it on elsewhere)

    Cycle helmet wearers are reckless

Funny in the early 90's when I wore a helmet, I saw that as a positive. If you had something silly looking strapped to you, the drivers might take more notice! (Of course it doesn't work now)

    Cycle helmet wearers are reckless

Yep you're right I meant B into C! Whoops! Actually I'd prefer if it eliminated B) and we were just left with A and C (for head injuries better dead than vegetable).

    Cycle helmet wearers are reckless

Cycling proficiency... Currently I have 3 helmets: When I'm climbing I wear my climbing helmet. When I'm whitewater kayaking I wear my kayaking helmet. When I'm cycling I wear my cycling helmet. Do they work? Well the climbing helmet has certainly deflected quite a few falling rocks...

    When 15 mph isn't enough

I don't see (b) as being that difficult. It's merely an electronic control issue, you monitor the change in speed and if the change is too great moderate the power applied. The controller does need to be more complex, indeed it needs to become "fly by wire" much like a modern car's ECU. However...

    When 15 mph isn't enough

Well in my limited experience of e-biking (before my knees protested too much) I can say that for me in London, 15mph was quite enough. Yes there are occasions when I might want a little extra, but that was rare. What is wanted is a bit more oomph getting to 15mph. My Wisper (in common with...

Any lights available with metal bracket/body

I remember my dad had some antique everready bike lights once, they were made of metal. Might be a basis for a build your own?

    Pedelec Problems

Dezbert, I suggest you PM David at Wisper directly. I'm SURE he will sort you out! (BTW the if the controller, throttle and motor have been changed then that leaves the wiring, switches and battery. If you have an iffy switch or connection to the switch it might mimic what you have. Maybe water...

    developments for 2009?

Yes I was thinking of those...however at £75 for the shorteners or £400 for the Swing Pedal (the prefered option as you don't need to raise the seat) it aint cheap! The other thing would be to take the cranks off my old bike and have them shortened by Highpath for £40. What might be good...

    Bottom bracket creaking

Wow! I never realised that, thought they were all the same. BTW The last time I looked you had two chain rings...or am I seeing things?
