I've got a feeling these are the ones you're on about, which will make some kind of fitting at the lever, nigh on impossible. Ultrafunkula's suggestion may be the way to go though. I'm sure with a bit of Googling, you could find something similar, but with a Bafang Higo connector.

I don't think you'll ever get the Cyclamatic to the performance you sound like you're looking for. Even when I beastified my mk1 Cyclamatic, it wasn't particularly quick. That was with an upgraded controller and 24v-36v conversion. If you want awesome acceleration and high top speed, then BBS02...

Try cleaning the prongs on the battery base with some electrical contact cleaner. Also, gently prise the contacts on the battery inwards. This lessens any electrical resistance in that area, which can cause current flow problems.

Q5 yes You can specify better specification batteries. Although this may initially be more expensive, it means you get better performance for longer, which could work out cheaper in the long term.

Maybe the software senses the ageing battery can't supply enough power any more, and defaults Turbo to a lower level. Not saying this is exactly what's happening in your case, just a thought.

I had a little chuckle about your Brighton cliffs comment, but I feel your pain and hope you get a happy solution. Electric bikes aren't the cheapest things in the world, which makes it doubly worse when they don't work as they should.

Tried that, but electric shower throws up a low pressure alarm.

Problem: Pipe or pipes in house, bang every time the washing machine valve shuts the water off. I drained the water system and refilled, but it only cures the problem for a day or two. Two questions: 1) What's the standard pipe thread size of a modernish house? 2) Do these water hammer...

Was using a bike with a powerful rear hub motor laced into an Alex rim. The build date of the wheel was circa 2014. Probably put 2k miles on the rim and didn't have any issues whatsoever. I reckon the MD40 rims fitted to the R&M will be higher spec than the ones I had, so should be very good.

T The 30Q's are definitely better for the job, but are they genuine at that price! I would consider the NCR18650B's more suited for laptops. This is entirely my own opinion, someone else might put a different perspective on it.
