Do you regularly wear a cycle helmet?

Personally I always used to wear a helmet but after many nasty accidents I found that the cheap plastic they are made of was simply not up to the job. What is the point of wearing it if every time one lands on one's head the helmet breaks and needs replaced? Now I ride free and unfettered, no...

    pedal sensor

Be sure the root of all your problems lies within the walls of that 'little white box'. In my own professional opinion you must find the biggest hammer in the shed you have and smash the wee bl;ighter to smithereens. If you then take a photo of the contents you could post it here in the forum...

    Not from London

Speaking from the real world, we here in Scotland are a race of natural built athletes and look on with some bemusement at the armchair olympic hysteria which has intoxicated our sedentary southern compatriots. If our own man Eric Liddel were still around he would undoubtably have made a clean...

maybe not but what about Alf Tupper, the 'tough of the track', Yorkshires finest who if still running would surely have seen of Bolt, Clare Balding and the rest thro sheer grit and determination alone!

    Not from London

The guy is 35 years old and they gave him a knighthood. What on earth for, riding a bike? I guess our glorious leader Alec Salmond will have to make him second in command now or at the very least minister for transport.

There is a courageous warrior lingering on here.

Your post makes absolutely no sense whatsoever I'm afraid. Does what exist? who are we? thoughts on what? who are you? why am I doing this when I should be outside in the glorious sunshine fixing my bike?

    Battery Range

A useful experiment for other tonaro riders Mike. I think the tonaro batteries are prob slightly on the cheapie side but I usually expect over 30, even 35 miles per charge on full assist but with peddling using the pedelec mode. All manufacturers should include a proper watt meter on the bike...

New Version of my San Eagle

well done, nice bike and set up. A short wheelbase bike is aesthetically more pleasing and keeping the batteries in the centre must help the ride. Lipo is great for high current applications as well. D8veh, great to see you back. Missed your input and sage advice too much!

UK 220W power supply + 200W Turningy charger

yup Sacko, nice job, be interesting to read a thread on how you went about it. Cwah, the chargers at bms battery are pretty good and inexpensive. Shipping is not cheap but they will set the voltage to your spec and give you a full charge in an hour or so. Balance charge at the weekend as reqd.

What would happen if... 48V Alien Aurora?

Either one should probably do for your purpose though you might look at the KU93 controller from BMS Battery(the ku123 might be too power hungry). All of them should run on 48v or 36v okay the difference being where they set the low voltage cutout. If set for 36v running it will work for 48v as...

    EZee Kit Micro-Review

well that's not very nice is it? I Always thought the European ebike manf rather arrogant assuming they could compete with small 24v low capacity batteries but it could be they just had to cope with more rigorous compliance testing than they might out east. Think most of them are up to 36v now.

    Battery price

Yup, if they sell a 7s then they will also sell a balance charger capable of charging it. Without a bms you need to keep a close eye on your battery and would certainly require a wattmeter . A three day fire fighting course is also adviseable.

    EZee Kit Micro-Review

250w=sustained controller 36v*7amp rated continuous perhaps capable of 15amp max 36*15=540watts peak. Compliance certification does seem a trifle lax but a 250w max cap would make ebikes an unuseable, unsaleable commodity and is in everyone's interest to be realistic not anal.

    Battery price

alfazzr you are quite right about the battery enigma. There is a conspiracy of silence regarding lipo, perpetuated by jerry and others from largely good intentions. But if you are looking for the best solution then lipo is definately it!

    Battery price

Why dont you ask amigafan very very nicely if he could make you up a nice wee lipo pack which would give your old bike a wonderful new lease of life. In a good mood he might only charge you £150 and you would have hours of endless fun learning up about lipo charging solutions?

"Its dead easy: Legal ebike (as defined) = pedal cycle legislation. Ilegal ebike (not complying with above) = Same law / penalties as with motor vehicles."
