See: Kalkhoff New Battery Technology - 8Ah, 12Ah and 18Ah Lithium electric bike batteries
£500 for the 18Ah version with 1100 charge cycles before 60% depletion.
Twike have been producing these for many years:
Welcome to
If it wasn't for the jaw dropping prices (even without batteries) I would be very interested. I do wonder who buys them at these prices.
I do my 14 mile trip in 55 minutes without breaking into a sweat. This is on a Kalkhoff Pro Connect with the gear raised by replacing the rear sprocket with a 19 tooth one from the original 23 tooth. I find this gearing just right for commuting and for general use.:)

A summary of the item here: BBC News - Cycle helmets - a hard case to crack
Perhaps the ideal would be to wear a helmet but disguised so it can't be seen by drivers, plus a "lollipop stick" as mentioned in one of the comments.
I see this as very good news. An 18 Ah battery that is compatible with so many models is surely a good thing, whether it is produced by Panasonic or not.:)
An 18 Ah battery that slots into my Pro Connect and works without any mods needed, with the same charger, and only costs a little more than the 10 Ah battery would be perfect!

18AH battery and 468 Wh capacity. Seems to fit the description.:o
Now that would be exactly what I want. It would certainly make a huge difference, to the point where it could be, as you say, a game changer. Let's hope it comes true (mind you - at what cost?).:D
