    KU65 and PAS

Is it me, or is the KU65 a bit rubbish with a pedal sensor? I've just thrown together a new bike for testing (it will become my 'chuck it in the van' bike, more on that later...), and I was hoping to do without a throttle. The PAS seems to cut out at a very low speed (perhaps 12mph) even when...

bafang 500 watt cst or bmc v3s

There's something wrong there. My cst blitzes my swx for torque, speed and it's slightly quieter to. I'm using the s12p controller, which will run up at 28 amps, so that accounts for some of the difference. Perhaps your battery is at fault? Have you put a watt meter in to see what's going on?

bafang 500 watt cst or bmc v3s

I'm very happy with mine, as are others on here with theirs. I got mine from BMS and had no problem. Order the spoke key with it though, and a hand full of spare spokes just incase. You will need to dish the wheel when you get it.

bafang 500 watt cst or bmc v3s

Don't know about the BMC, but I have the CST, running at 36v, 28amp controller. I'm a large chap, and it takes me up my local long and steep 12% hill at a good speed with a bit of assistance from me. Prob about 15mph on the hill, and about 22 on the flat. I would estimate you'd get somewhere...

    Kit advice please

So it looks like: 26" wheels Steel fork V brakes Deraileurs I agree, front hub motor is probably the best bet. 201 rpm is the norm if you want to go about 18mph (ish) top speed. The challenge will be getting a battery into that frame triangle, as it looks very small. Could you measure the...

    Kit advice please

Hi, I think you should post a pic of the bike you want to convert, so we can all have a look. Important factors will be: Forks- steel or ally? Brakes. Drivetrain. Rack mounting points. I have converted cruisers before, they are lots of fun.

little help with a rear derailleur

This will happen if the cable is gritty/rusty/Manky. As Dave says, change the cable. You could also just take it apart and clean it off. A squirt of GT85 might help to free it up....

    Reality Check

That's a nice looking bike now D8veh. I like the re-inforced seat tube rack. I assume a DIY addition? What battery do you have on that rack?

n00b from Minnesota USA Trek Pure conversion?

I converted my Trek Clyde with a 350w Q128 front hub motor and 20ah battery last year. Its a similar bike to yours, in that it's got hub gears at the back and a steel fork up front, so a good candidate for a front drive. I was re-using parts that I had available, but if I were starting from...

    Just bought my first ebike!

Pump: keep a cheap, small pump on the bike. Something like this: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/190684242739 I have a small electric pump that I use at home to get the correct pressure, but you could also use a track pump. Puncture repair kits: you can buy these in Tesco for £1. You will also need...
