Anyone have an Eco Stepper or Viking E-Go?

Battery might just be out of balance or repairable. Other's (mostly d8veh) on the forum have had success with bringing them back to life, as have I.

    Dilemma....

If you decide to go ready built, it might be worth looking at the Kudos Cobra or Tornado, and comparing to the Burisch. I seem to recall Kudos bikes having better components.

Sugru - A handy little find

Nope, otherwise I would have put one in. I get myself involved in all manner of projects, many of them involving water in some way. Mixing silicone and fabric could be a useful 'tool in the box' for some current half thought out projects.

Sugru - A handy little find

Silicone as a fabric waterproofing agent, I like the sound of that. Will do some googling.....

Oogoo is an alternative name for silicone sealant mixed with corn flour.

Sugru - A handy little find

I use Oogoo (in place of Sugru) because of availability. I always have the ingredients in abundance in the house, so it makes sense. Also, I can make it any colour I choose. Sugru is a harder to get hold of, I assume because it is not approved for use in the EU (no CE mark apparently)...

Sugru - A handy little find

You can make a cheap alternative by mixing silicone sealant with corn flour. You can colour it with poster paint. Google oogoo for details. You have to use the cheap silicone that smells a bit like vinegar (screwfix and toolstation, less than £2 a tube)

Another battery question-please can you help?

Most controllers have a low voltage cut out, so that would protect the battery from being discharged fully while in use. On the SLA systems I've seen, this is all that is used. The self discharge rates of SLA mean that you should top them up every now and then if not used - when I was using...

    500 miles done!

I have fitted Schwalbe Fat Franks (2.3) to my bike, and they are pretty good on road, and passable on gravel. The Schwalbe big apples are reputed to be about the same, although you can get them in 2.3, 2.15, an 2.00 (i think). Never gone above 30mph though.

Cyclezee Mk1 conversion on Trek 6000

You would get more interest on eBay if you include more information about the bike. Include info about range, battery size, speed, legality. Suggested uses, ie commuting, shopping, sport, pub crawls. Include more photos, preferably good quality ones taken in bright sunshine, and if poss with a...

Does this seem like a good idea?

Put simply, no. Push or pull, its all the same to physics. The extra wheels and weight are an issue though.

Avoid the hazard of motorists with the Paravelo Bicycle.

The idea is broken, let alone the link! 'Its a folding bike so you can take it on a train'. Genius.

    Brake pads - help!!!!

Sorry, I don't know where to get these pads, but I had a similar problem with my bike. It was fitted with Quad QMD mech disk calipers. The replacement pads were nearly £20 per pair. For £25 I was able to buy a complete new Shimano caliper, including pads. Worth thinking about if the pads are...

My mind is working over-time again, please help me out for me.

A used battery might drop a little from the 41-42 volts when at 100% SOC, but not a lot. Really, the voltage indicates how full the battery is, not how much capacity it has. As the battery gets older, it will still be 100 full, but its capacity may be reduced. Imagine a bucket that gets...

My mind is working over-time again, please help me out for me.

You have to remember that voltage is only the indicator of state of charge (SOC). In a 36v (nominal) system, the battery holds100% SOC at about 41-42 volts, and approaches 0% somewhere about 33v (that might be wrong number, someone please correct me if so.). The relationship is not linear...

    Chose a cheap Ebike

Hmm. The obvious question then: Is it a £760 bike (in which case you break even, although your choice was limited), or something else?

Hi there newbie wanting a new e bike......

I think you will like that Kudos. Very nice machine, and excellent value. I wouldn't be too worried about how many gear ratios though. I have 24 on mine, and I only ever use three. I keep the rear on the second smallest cog, and use the front to give me 3 ratios.
