20" front wheel hub motor, gearing questions !

You have to select the rim size at the bottom, (confusingly), and I would assume that the cassette spline will be standard, so you can put whatever you like on there. Cost me about £15 last time I bought an 8 speed.

20" front wheel hub motor, gearing questions !

BMS website is slow at the moment, but the BPM from them comes in a rim already, and they will do a 20 inch rim. About £140 delivered.

20" front wheel hub motor, gearing questions !

BMS battery have the front version of the BPM in 350 watt, 328 rpm, 20 inch rim. You could almost certainly run it above 350 watt with right controller, how far you could push it before it fails I dont know for sure. I would guess 500 w would be fine. According to my calculation, 328 rpm on 20...

    3 x 12v SLA Batteries + Charger FOC

Three of them, with an inverter and a modern 32" LCD TV would work for a hour or so. Probably get you through a power cut.

    3 x 12v SLA Batteries + Charger FOC

I have a load of spare SLAs as well. I have found a few uses for these so far: 1. Use 1 to power a cheap compressor. Portable electric pump. Will run for ages from a 12ah SLA. 2. A few in parallel connected to an inverter. Portable mains electricity. (no good for anything power hungry though)...

    Controller for Bafang SWX01

Great, I think I'll have a go at that, cheers D8veh. Might have to wait until the stitches are out from my knee - had a little tumble testing the new cruiser last weekend. Result: 7 Stitches.

    Controller for Bafang SWX01

....but it is. As ever, eagle eyed D8veh is spot on. Hmm, that's gonna be a problem, since my drop out are for 135mm, as I suspect are most other MTB's. What bit are you suggesting can be chopped off D8veh?

    Controller for Bafang SWX01

Thanks guys. I will connect it up and see what results I get. D8veh, I hadn't considered that it could be 150mm, I will check that later and report back back.

    Controller for Bafang SWX01

Hi all, Last week I picked this motor up cheap from eBay, and now I need a controller for it. My questions are: 1. Is it worth going for torque simulation sine wave controller? Perhaps the s06s or the s12s? 2. How far can one of these motors be pushed? Should I stick with a 250 watt...

can I use V brakes on a 350/500w FRONT HUB conversion kit ?

I have recently gone from average discs, to good V brakes. I absolutely agree that good V brakes can be pretty good. As an example, with my current v brakes I can lock the back wheel flat out, down hill, without shifting my weight. I'm not a small bloke, and I'm riding on fat (2.3 in) slick...

    Trek Clyde Conversion

The bike is now on the road: I have added some nice laid back bars. Schwalbe Fat Frank 2.3 inch tyres. 700c mudguards (got them cheap, made them fit). A D8veh style rack, hammerited black (see thread: how-make-rack-battery ) and some some LED Pipe Lights (See...

ACF-50 or GT85, too good to be true?

I use GT85 for general bike lubrication jobs. For a quick job it pretty good. Quick spray into v-brake pivots, and into the joints of front and rear mechs. Also good for spraying into brake/gear cables to keep them lubed. Most suprising use though is cleaning car interiors. Works an absolute...

looking at conversion kits from China

I have used BMS battery a couple of times, although never for a full kit. Biggest order was for a 20ah battery and some bits n bobs. Can't remember exact numbers, but order value was aprox £200 inc. delivery, and I was charged about £25 quid extra by DHL to cover import charges. I had a...

    Help with motor ID

Hi all, Can anyone identify this rear motor from the following images? I bought it cheap on eBay. It looks to be three phase, and hall sensor, as it has 3 thick and 5 thin wires coming out. I was told that its '250 watt'. The body on the non drive side is threaded (can't see why) and it's not...
