    Another Battery tale of woe

Woosh advertise spare batteries and there's something on the website about fitting third party bikes. Give Hatti a ring, she has a reputation for being helpful.

I think this is a cracking bike but what am I missing?

Reluctant as I am to accuse anyone of trolling, I was thinking the same. The original post certainly lacks clarity and I think any prospective purchaser of a Scirocco CD should disregard it.

    Which tyres Please ?

I've heard of a few problems with the Kenda tyres supplied on Woosh bikes, so I don' think they are the bike's strongest point. Having said that, the sidewalls are a weak point on any tyre and hedge clippings have a habit of jumping up and nipping the sidewall. I think you've answered your own...

    Puff Puff Puff

Spinning smoothly in a lower gear is the way to climb hills. Another tip is try to pedal 'in circles' rather than up and down.

Did you know Raleigh are offering £100 Discount off their Ebikes for August ?

That certainly makes sense. Apart from the paint job, the Raleigh crank drive bikes look all but identical to Kallhoffs. And the Velo looks to have a bit of Gazelle in it, particularly the hub motor.

New 29er from Riese and Muller

That R&M looks nicely understated. A good alternative for those who might think Haibikes a bit too 'candy store' for their liking.

Newbie - what e-bike to buy?

Range is heavily dependent on conditions and rider input, but 50 miles is at the higher end of what's achievable for most ebikes. More good news - the Agattu you are considering has a large 17ah battery, so if any ebike can do 50 miles, that one can.

    Wonderful Whitfield Welcome....to all cyclists

Er, possibly, it's not something I've ever done. Copyright might be a bit iffy, I ripped it from another website. Next to no chance of them seeing the pic - or caring about it - on a forum read only by a handful of people, but putting it on google maps is a lot more risky.

Here's a more recent pic - apologies for the slightly scruffy screen grab.

Did you know Raleigh are offering £100 Discount off their Ebikes for August ?

My local bikeshop has a Raleigh Velo on promotion from Raleigh at £999. The shop owner tells me they are trying to push ebikes. I had a quick look, it's bit nicer than some Chinese ebikes and good value for the price. Raeligh Velo XC

    Nice bike but no poke

I've just had a decent go on an A2B Hybrid 24. The good news is it is a very nice bike in lots of ways. Quality components and it looks classy and well made. The keyless immobiliser fob is a nice touch, and the display is neater than some. The ride - as a bicycle - is smooth and commendably...

Newbie - what e-bike to buy?

Short answers are 'yes' and 'yes'. The Agattu is a good quality ebike and I'm fairly sure the supplier - 50 Cycles - is at the show, but best to ask them. You could look at dozens of others, but bear in mind the amount of poke from all road legal ebikes is roughly the same so it comes down to...

    Kudos cobra

Most places can find a way for you to add some money to the scheme. I'm sure the Tornado is a nice bike for the price, but it's not a commuter. Mudguards, a pannier rack and lights are usually required for that purpose. All these things can be retro-fitted, but they spoil the look of a...

    Rose bikes?

An ebike link has reappeared on the Rose website, although it links to a page which was blank just now. They might have stopped selling ebikes, but it's 2014 model time, so I expect they are tinkering with the range.

    Wonderful Whitfield Welcome....to all cyclists

Well done, I'm pleased you are sorted. Looks like a well-established business. I suppose the previous owners have had the benefit of the summer trade, but the quieter months should give you time to get settled and put your stamp on the place. I will certainly swing by, but it's bit...

So I've tried a few but still confused

I have no friend called Eddy, but Melissa sounds like my type of girl. A quality bike, such as the Koga, has a smooth, almost buttery ride quality which is hard to describe but lovely to experience. My Rose - similar price and components - was a revelation after the string of Chinese/£!k-ish...

    first electric bike

Either the Giant or Woosh should serve you well. I would steer clear of ebay or Gumtree, you really don't know what you are buying. It's a pity the Giant dealer wasn't more helpful because there is a lot to be said for buying from a shop which you can return the bike to for service or warranty...
