Spinning smoothly in a lower gear is the way to climb hills. Another tip is try to pedal 'in circles' rather than up and down.

That certainly makes sense. Apart from the paint job, the Raleigh crank drive bikes look all but identical to Kallhoffs. And the Velo looks to have a bit of Gazelle in it, particularly the hub motor.

Range is heavily dependent on conditions and rider input, but 50 miles is at the higher end of what's achievable for most ebikes. More good news - the Agattu you are considering has a large 17ah battery, so if any ebike can do 50 miles, that one can.
