A tiny bit of research before you posted would have told you that there are probably a handful of 200w e bikes on British roads, and I doubt that anyone reading this site has one. So basically it was a waste of time. Perhaps it would have been better to wait until the law change is fully...

Statement from Bosch in relation to Classic line motors

Purely in the interests of being a nosy old git I’d love to know. Please tell.

So my suspicion that it wouldn’t cover pedelecs is correct. Almost all of them are more powerful than the old regs which you are using, and even the recovery policy I’ve got from Lexham covers normal 250w bikes. Chocolate teapots come to mind.

    warranties

I notice that some sellers like the Apple Store for instance, now make a point of explaining the six year period in which a claim for faulty goods can be brought, and pointing out that their warranties do not affect that. But in practice a claim for goods not being of marketable quality after...

New Electric Bike but one small niggle

Because of the direct relationship between leg effort and power produced. This bike rides just like an unpowered bike except the motor is directly adding to your leg power, and adjusting instantly to an increase or decrease in leg power. A pas bike gives a totally different riding experience.

Because with a TS bike you can put in the same effort as you would with a non powered bike but go uphill twice or three times as fast. It’s like having bionic legs. With the very hilly terrain where I live it’s very hard work using a non powered bike at my age. I could still use one the last...

New Electric Bike but one small niggle

The Woosh I had as my first e bike gave all its power from just turning the pedals over. Using the throttle when moving didn’t add any extra power if you were in the highest setting already. So I can’t see what’s different there. The only time you had to work harder was going up steep hills...

You don’t actually use the words pedelec or ebike anywhere in your two posts though? Pedal cycle is used a few times though.

Best to contact Kudos. That doesn't sound right so you may be doing something wrong or there may be an issue.

Bit of a drastic step there though. I won't book the clinic in Thailand just yet.

    Invisible Bike

I used to go quite fast on motorbikes in my youth, and there have been occasions when looking back I almost come out in a cold sweat at some of the things I did. But the things I see many sports motorcyclists do now makes me wonder how they stay alive. In riding at high speed on crowded roads...

http://www.haibike.de/produkte_detail_en,,18875,detail.html This Halbike Xduro race is the sort of ebike I might wear lycra on. I don't know if it's imported here though. I do have a hankering for a road type e bike. Apart from anything else it's much more comfortable riding any distance with...

Matter of taste I expect. I've had MBs since I moved here in the country and I always wore the same as I wear now. Lycra goes with road bikes and going fast IMO. The last MB I had was used on the road and was fitted with fairly narrow road tyres and was almost as fast as my road bikes when it...

All good points. But you would look a bit of a tit wearing the full roadie gear on a normal e bike. In the years I used to ride a road bike for fitness I dressed appropriately in tight bright lycra. But wearing my old day glow tops now on my rather staid looking Kalkhoff I would look a bit odd...

A lot of the time it's taken the wrong way here too. Even more so when I lived in London before I retired. There are prats everywhere. More are being born every day.

Think you're missing the point. I don't use the horn because I'm annoyed. I use it for the reason it's fitted, to warn other road users of danger. It's prats who use their horns for anything else, and there are a lot of prats on the road. Like I said they're the ones who always blast back...
