    Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 9 / 10 (9-G/10-G)

I have absolutely no inside knowledge but there have been some problems with the 17ah batteries. I had to get mine changed, and a couple of others on this forum have too, as well as reports of problems with them on the German forum. Mine seemed to be a BMS problem so perhaps they have changed...

    Solved my problem

You probably were in the wrong place. If they were a right on bike shop they probably weren’t interested in you at all; and being young and smug and knowing no better, they just couldn’t be bothered to make an effort to be polite.

    Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 9 / 10 (9-G/10-G)

The 603wh battery seems to be the latest version. My 2013 Agattu had a 612wh battery but when it was replaced before Christmas under warrantee the replacement was 603wh. Not exactly a huge difference though. I get 46 to 48 miles to system shut down when I’ve conditioned it. But I live in a very...

    Opinions Please.....?

For sure I expect. But that battery and controller would give it more power and a lot more range. With the 9Ah battery the range is pitiful if you go fast or live in a hilly area.

With rim brakes you aren’t only comparing mechanical with hydraulic though. I’ve got hydraulic rim brakes which need little maintenance and are more powerful and progressive than mechanical V brakes and are more progressive and maintenance free than mechanical disks. The rims are very heavy duty...

    Opinions Please.....?

Badge engineering is nothing new in cars either of course. But the Derby Cycles badge engineered models do tend to be the more basic ones, and even then there are small changes across the brands. A lot of their brands like their version of Raleigh are not available here either I believe. The...

    Opinions Please.....?

Yes. You have to think about the possibility of sending a bike back if you buy mail order though. If you buy locally that’s not an issue, but would the place really be an e bike dealer and could they fix it if it went wrong? Or are they just a LBS with a couple of e bikes. If you buy from one...

    Opinions Please.....?

I believe some of the cheaper ones have been known to crack though.

The main difference in bike parts past a certain point is weight. Once you get up to that point you start paying about double for something to save a few grams. Not really so important with e bikes. Very cheap parts are not so durable though. Particularly if you hammer them.

Except the frame is a part too. Before very long you would have a completely different bike.

The only troll here is you. First you ask for opinions and then within five minutes you’re telling people here that their products are crap. You know SFA about anything, but that isn’t going to stop you because you have a massive sense of your own worth matched only by the size of your head...

Crank drive - mid-drive vs. hub motor (Woosh Big Bear / Krieger)

I decided a normal bike wasn’t enough because I hadn’t ridden a bike for about five years. But It was because I’d had a series of operations that I’d stopped and lost my bike fitness; and trying to ride it again afterwards in the very hilly area I live was like pedalling in syrup. I’m a lot more...

Who says manufacturing in Britain is dead?

Yes good luck with it. I’d like to be able to buy a good British made e bike. Particularly interested in your new CD bikes when you strart turning them out.

The point trex was making was that with a TS you can cycle with much less effort and sweat, but still go faster than an unpowered bike because of the bionic legs effect. If however you put in the same effort and sweat as you do with your current bike you will go a lot faster particularly uphill...

I think the difference between us is that you are an optimist and I’m pessimistic about the future. Dr Johnson once remarked that re-marriage was a triumph of hope over experience, and I think that the belief that mankind will find technological solutions to our problems is much the same...

I’m sure they will, and they’ll think the ancients who built it we’re gods. But the chances of leakage into water and surrounding rocks over the millennia are still high, and we should not be passing on our poison to the far future. The Scandinavian depositories are gold standard BTW. Most...
