    The lost Malaysian airplane

I expect the plane having left KLIA at around midnight, would fly North East, over Terenganu in direction of HCM. It would take about an hour to leave Malaysian air traffic control and be handled over to HCM air traffic control which has already noticed it before losing contact. It easy for the...

Legality of having a switch to meet 250w regulations

I agree. Almost all the bikes with LED display units cannot control their speed, all the bikes with Chinese LCDs are easy to set to higher speed, all the Bosch bikes only need a Badass dongle. The impression I get is manufacturers are not too keen enforcing the law.

Legality of having a switch to meet 250w regulations

we are not arguing about a physical button to derestrict a bike. Take the case of the popular LCD on ezee, kudos, woosh bikes etc. It's not a button, so is the bike legal when it's sold? shemozzle?

60V 100A Digital LCD Display Voltage Current Power 6.77 gbp

I wonder why they don't use d8veh remote current sensing idea. One milliOhm resistor with plug and socket to fit at the battery side or better still, replace the fuse box with integral sensing resistor. It wouldn't cost much more to make at the factory.

Legality of having a switch to meet 250w regulations

    A. is semantics, due to imprecise method of measuring motor power B. what happens if there is no switch and still easy to fit a dongle (eg Bosch)? Should riders with dongle be fined for uncivic behaviour? Most female riders are probably happy with 15mph but most males under 70 are capable of...

    The lost Malaysian airplane

don't you people read Tom Clancy? it was a night flight. Malaysian air defence staff needed their sleep so nobody watched the radar. Air traffic radars are not real radars, they are more like mobile phone masts, they 'see' the plane only when it wants to be seen.

    Keyde 100SWXC24 with 36V?

My model predicts 937W on flat roads without headwind for 25mph (40.1 kph), minimum torque 28NM @ 322 RPM on 26" wheel. Can someone with a CA confirm this?

    The lost Malaysian airplane

I reckon the American/Russian/Chinese military know a lot more than they let out. Also, engine makers usually monitor their engines constantly, they should also know.

Woosh Sirocco 2 vs CD vs CDL vs Big Bear

The Sportsdirect £250 folder is a good buy. The Woosh bikes are quite different, their main strength is their big battery. The Sirocco 2 is the cheapest, £699, essentially a commuter bike for flat roads. The CD is good for speed, the Big Bear is good for grunt.

    Keyde 100SWXC24 with 36V?

I would be very wary of running a motor at higher voltage than the manufacturers' specification. You have several parameters to take into account: maximum power output, maximum torque, maximum RPM, maximum efficiency. These parameters are useless on their own because they don't happen at...

Woosh Sirocco 2 vs CD vs CDL vs Big Bear

I agree, the Big Bear is the best Woosh for heavy riders.

Which bike for the heavier rider? Wisper, Oxygen, Woosh, RooDog?

e-bikes will last as long as you look after your bike and use it regularly because the battery needs to be used and recharged regularly. cost aside, you would certainly notice the difference in pulling power between the big and heavy motors of the Ezee Torq or the Kudos Typhoon or the Woosh Big...

    Balance wire turmoil!

you could write down the voltage of each white wire against the battery minus terminal on sticky labels and attach the labels back to the white wires before marrying them to the black wires!

    Balance wire turmoil!

it's a lot of work soldering directly on to the tabs in comparison to extending the old connector with the new cable. I tried desoldering some balance wires with a Maplin 30W iron, it could not melt the solder they put on at the factory. d8veh, what do you think?

I can't see anything wrong with traders recommending their bikes in this section of the forum. kudosdave made a valid point, if traders get too few click throughs then they will inevitably stop their financial support, we'll all lose out.
