How would you build a 1kW SEL?

You set the maximum speed in the LCD to the speed you want. Be careful, the RH154 is a cheapish mini DD motor, it will take any voltage and current but not for long, the copper insulation will melt! On steep hills, the motor efficiency can easily drop, most of the battery energy is converted...

How would you build a 1kW SEL?

no, I haven't - they may do it, the market is moving towards CST. I only saw the Heinzmann DD with CST: http://www.ebike.heinzmann.com/en/systems/directpower/motor

How would you build a 1kW SEL?

the situation gets more interesting when your bike is going uphill. Hub motors I watched the two videos on the .es website, I may have missed something but these scooters seem to go up to about 12-15kph - about the slowest of all e-bikes out there, nowhere near the speed of 1000W e-bike...

With same specs, is one motor more powerful than the other?

this is the LCD with temperature display: http://www.9continent.com/nkt/manage/eWebEditor/UploadFile/201411095230549.pdf the motor works sensored/sensorless. With direct drive motors, the sweet spot where efficiency > 65% is quite narrow, you burn typically 25% more electricity. Is it...

apparently, it already has built-in temperature gauge, the temperature is displayed on the LCD in their kit.

    Professional Bike Assembly Needed :(

Have you tried the neighbours? these folders usually only need unwrapping, putting the front wheel and pedals on. If you can't find anyone, then you need a mobile bike mechanic who will come to your house and do it for you for about £30. It won't take him more than 15 minutes. Try googling...

    Professional Bike Assembly Needed :(

Ask a friend. it'll take about 30 minutes to put the bike together, mostly common sense. Toolwise, you need a posidriv screwdriver, spanners (4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm) and allen keys (4mm, 5mm, 6mm). Pound shops and Aldi usually have them. post pictures of your bike as it is at present - we'll...

With same specs, is one motor more powerful than the other?

this motor is the nearest to the BionX. 5 year guarantee, noiseless, no broken gears - no matter how many Watts you run through the motor and costs less than a third of the price of my BBS01. may need a temperature gauge though.

With same specs, is one motor more powerful than the other?

9continent has a new motor, direct drive, 3.2kgs, with a selection of windings. It looks definitely yummy!! http://www.9continent.com/nkt/products_show.asp?id=100 d8veh, is it worth trying out?

    Road legal 1000W electric scooter

I think insurance is about £100 per annum but you can't insure it until you have a number plate, which requires type approval. Now can you licence it as a 50cc scooter? somebody needs to approach DVLA. ..wait, thinking about it, how about e-converting a petrol scooter?

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

flat bottles: yes, I agree, these HJ boxes look very sleek. I have the standard round bottle, I am not looking for anything else at present but next time, will probably go for something similar. The LS-mini controller has only 6 FETs, not specified for 48V. I think the bigger XOFO controller is...

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

d8veh rides a XOFO CST, he is the authority here. I got the power graph of the XOFO CST some time ago, it maxes out around 750W at 37V if I remembered correctly. If you run it at 48V, then the max power will be around 1000W. Your battery needs to be capable of 21A at 48V. With 2600mAH cells...

Would 50V / 40A be too much for a Xofo / Bafang CST?

I haven't tried this kind of power myself, but I think the clutch in geared motors, including crank drives, won't take more than 700W for long. It should be a direct drive motor for power beyond 700-800W. You then have to think about weight distribution.

Which electric bike do you own?

wouldn't it be better to add a field 'I ride this bike' to your 'find an electric bike' database at http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/buy/find-an-electric-bike/ If I select a bike, my name will then be shown automatically on this bike's page. New members looking for a bike can thus use all the forum's...
