    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

The throttle is necessary for testing. Connect the motor, LCD, battery and throttle. You don't need to route all the wires yet, just connect it all up for testing. Switch on and test with the throttle. Don't give it full throttle nor hold the throttle open if the motor doesn't turn or if the...

    newbie questions for ebike build

All kits are good. It's only when you add constraints, like "I want 48v and good efficiency and legal", that you have to be more discerning. One thing to look out for if you want efficiency is that the very cheap kits don't have LCDs that let you use different levels of power with the PAS. They...

Only if the holes go all the way through. If you can't see or are otherwise unsure, poke a cocktail stick down the hole as far as it goes and turn the wheel backwards. You'll be able to feel the motor turning if the hole goes all the way through. Most people would be able to see just by looking...

    newbie questions for ebike build

You have to understand how motor speed works. The maximum speed is proportional to the voltage. Motors don't care about voltage. 100v would be OK for the motor. It's heat and current that damage motors. Torque is directly proportional to current, so high current can damage the gears. High...

Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 2 Fault

There are only a couple of things to check. Take the LCD off and clean all the contacts. Secondly, check that the contacts on the battery connector are OK. I've seen the battery displays go empty like that when the LCD can't communicate with the controller. It might be worth checking that the...

    Help! Checking Charger Output

A 10 amp fuse won't save his meter if he doesn't use a shunt (internal or external). If you had a fuse that could protect his meter, the charge current would blow it. You're not thinking this through!
