Cassette or freewheel kit or ?

The power is determined by the controller, not the motor. Cassette motors are typically 140mm to 145 mm between the drop-outs because they have a long cassette spline on one side. The bike has 135mm between the drop-outs. Freewheel motors are normally 135mm with a 7-speed freewheel. Here you...

    cargo bike conversion

The Bafang motor grips the bottom bracket tube and uses friction to resist the torque. It's fine as long as you don't have a press-fit bottom bracket. Also, it's no problem to add a tie-bar to the bracket or its fixing screws on the left side of the motor.

    Hi from Mark in Belgium

How much does the monthly rental cost? In case of misunderstanding, the drag you feel above 25km/h is the normal resistance that you would get on any bike without motor assistance. What you feel is the difference between the motor helping you at 25km/h with around 400W or around 3 times your...

    Buying used e-bikes

That's different because it doesn't have a the KT LCD1 display. These bikes are all built with standard Chinese catalogue parts. The battery will be a standard case with whatever they put in it. You only have to look at Hailong battery cases to see that they're all the same on the outside and...

    Buying used e-bikes

KKM100SX motor will be the desirable Aikema or clone (Q100). LCD looks like a KT LCD1, so it has the desirable KT controller too. As ong as you're not too heavy, that's the one I'd go for.

Cassette or freewheel kit or ?

You should check what gears your bike has first. 7 speeds or fewer, get a freewheel motor. More than 7 speeds, get a cassette motor. Cassette motors are wider than freewheel ones, which brings some slight complications when fitting, and thevmotor is often narrower, so it has a lower power...

    what shoes to buy

What's wrong with Aldi trainers at about £15 a pair? I must have done 10,000 miles with them. They work fine. I wear them everyday for everything - gardening, lounging, cycling, watching TV, working on my computer, driving - and they last at least two years. In fact I didn't even buy my last...

    Help! Battery\controller help

It could be your freewheel pawls sticking or slipping. The only thing you can do is try and get some 3in One oil in there. The pawls are at the back, so see if you can get some oil in there.

    Which hydraulic brake sensors.

It's a normal push-to-break switch withe two wires. One wire goes to the brake signal wire and the other to ground - either way round.

    Spokes

Be careful, if it's a rear wheel, it should have an off-set (dish0 built into the rim, in which case it'll have different tension on one side to the other. If you tighten the looser spokes on the left side to make them the same as the right side, you'll lose your off-set. If it's a front motor...

    Charging pack to 41V experiment

The whole idea is fraught with risks and full of ifs and buts and probability, plus it's a load of hassle to organise and monitor. As I said before, unless you're a very high mileage rider, just charging normally, your battery will last for years, by which time there will be better ones...

    Help! Battery\controller help

You had a connection fault somewhere. Now it's fixed - for now at least. If it comes back, it should be easy to track down.

    Charging pack to 41V experiment

I've been doing some experiments too. I found out that if you keep the cells at the 3.7v they arrive at, they last forever.

Kit specifies minimum AH for battery..

The reasons for conversion are: You have a bike that has characteristics that you want or need that you can't get on a ready-made one. You like doing projects and you like to learn how things work. You want special characteristics from the electrical system that you can't get on an OEM bike...

    pro rider electric bike help

This is the one I have. It looks the same and comes from the same type of battery.. You have a look and make sure. I sent you a PM. To get your old one out of the plastic top, you might have to drill out the lock, so that you can turn it to retract the pin

Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

You can get a KT controller with an LCD3 for about £60 from Topbikekit or PSWPower. When you buy a random KT controller, the settings might not be right for your motor, in which case you need the LCD to change them.
