Can I swap battery from my old bike into new bike (both are 36v lithium)?

Clunking in the motor is 9 times out of 10 an electrical fault. The motor gets knocked around by loads of pulses of electricity. the timing of the pulses is critical and the three wires make three lots of pulses. When any of the pulses get interrupted or the timing goes off, the remaining pulses...

Why not let us help by telling us which bike it is and what's wrong with the brakes?

You probably blew the hall sensors when your motor wire shorted. Hall sensors only cost a few pence each and are not too difficult to install as long as you can solder. Alternatively, you can get a sensorless controller.

That'll work. you might have to swap a couple of pins over. don't buy it until you've checked that the motor works by soldering your present one.

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

Yes, I have lots of ideas of what you can do, but it's better to test everything first because that can make a difference what to choose. £40 for a Cyclamatic controller is ridiculous. It's got to be one of the crappiest ones that you can get. You can get similar crappy ones for about £12, but...

If you ever topped up the brake fluid, you'd need to let it back out again by opening the filler screw.

Thanks. I don't see any faults, nor any sign of water ingress, so it's a mystery what killed it. If you have a soldering iron, you can drizzle a bit of solder between the pads where the pink and red wires are soldered to make a bridge, which will keep the motor controller permanently switched...

Typical! the one bit i need to see is out of focus. Can you do the first (right hand) photo again making sure that the end where the wires attach is very clear? While you're at it, can you do the same for the other side. Again, the bits I need to see are out of focus. There's something weird...

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

That's bad news. It sounds like you've blown a mosfet or two in the controller, which is shorting out the battery as soon as you connect it. When the motor phase wires touch, blown mosfets is often the result. The only problem now is that we don't know what caused the connectors to melt. It...

OK, it must be stone dead. Maybe a wire is pulled off inside. We need to do two things now: 1. Find out what's wrong with the control panel. Some are glued together and some are screwed. have a look underneath to see if there are any screws. If there are, you can take it apart and see inside...

Good. In that case, the control panel has power going to it, so, unless it's faulty, it should switch on. Even if it's faulty, you often see a flash or something on it when you press the button. What do you see when you press the on switch?

    Cyclematic powerplus power problem

Those connectors are not very good. I've seen that many times. It can happen if one is loose, if you go up a long steep hill too slowly, or if the motor connector isn't fully in. There are two versions of the Cyclamatic Power Plus. One had a connector underneath the right hand chain-stay and...

Start again: 1. Measure between the thick red and black wires that join the battery to the controller. The battery must be switched on and measure while connected, like you did before. 2. Measure between the thin red and the black wires on that flat black 6-pin connector. Make sure that the...

    replacement pannier rack

The rack design is really good because the shape of the structure hardly needs to be welded. Strange that the welds broke. If it were mine, I'd bind the two joints with braided fishing line, then soak the binding with epoxy. Add a bit of black paint when set, and it'll be stronger than new. I...

OK. As far as I can see the lighting wires have been bodged. I'm pretty sure that the wires for the lights are the reds and blacks on the left side of the photo. Unfortunately, your photo doesn't show where the wires at the bottom right come from or go to, and I assume that they're what's...

You have a flat 6-pin connector with red, pink, grey, blue and black wires in it. Put your blanck probe on the battery black and probe up the back of that connector on the controller side. Do you have some sort of control panel on the handlebars? Please show a photo of the handlebars that...

Review Woosh Rio MTB Review/Initial Impressions

You can turn the bike upside down. If there's any air in the reservoir, it might go into the hose and make the lever soft, but the brake lever is self-bleeding, so a few pumps on the lever will pump the air back into the reservoir and restore the brake to how it should be. You have your axle...
