    AKM Hub motor

AKM motors are really good. They're very reliable, smooth and quiet with the right controller, and they pack a fair punch for their size. They're my favourite motor after trying just about every other brand over the last 10 years.

    are my dropout too big?

They look like steel forks to me, not aluminium. Test them with a magnet. He's added the spacer to keep the motor off the fork because the drop-outs are on the centre-line, not inboard. You must replace the spacer with proper metal ones and hope that the forks aren't too splayed to lock their...

    Hello.

How have you set up the controls: one or two throttles? PAS? It looks good apart from the brakes. I'd change them to hydraulics, which don't cost much and are very quick to fit. They'll make a massive difference to your stopping.

SeaGo City Lite folder - reviews anyone?

Why don't you get your motor wheel rebuilt or even do it yourself? As always, you guys never say where you are, so we can't point you at someone that can do it for you.

    Panniers for grocery shopping.

I'don't bother with panniers and I do all my shopping on my bike.I started using panniers 10 years ago until I found this superior solution. For the last 6 years, I've been using a shoulder bag, like a sports bag, which is much more convenient. You empty your basket/trolley straight into the...

    Help with kt controller

C3 = n, where n is less than 6 is the PAS level that the LCD shows when you switch on. C3=8 means that it will come on at the same level you were on when you switched off.

Opening a shop, which brands are the best??

You need a range of bikes: Cheaper hub-motored bikes, like Eco-bike or Battribike; more expensive Chines, like Wisper, Oxygen or Volt; A range of crank-drive bikes of all types, like Scott or Cube; then take a punt on a couple of fat bikes or something like that.

Decathlon spares and general ebike stuff

I just stumbled across this store for Decathlon spares. they have just about all the Decathlon parts, including LCDs, torque sensors, controllers and motor wheels. The prices are very reasonable - as cheap if not cheaper than ebike kits. The best items are the ready-built motor wheels for £150...

Hall sensor configuration possibly causing C3 error?

Do these tests. they should indicate where your problem is: Here's a basic structure for checking an Ebike after connecting everything up and switching on. 1. Measure the voltage at controller's battery connector. Obviously should be battery voltage. 2. Measure the voltage on the 5v rail. You...

Hall sensor configuration possibly causing C3 error?

That's not right 18K is a completely bogus reading. The phases have very low resistance (like 0.1 Ohms) - so low that most normal meters can't measure it, and zero ohms would be a normal reading

    Rear hub questions wooshbikes

The Bafang 48v will max out out about 20 mph and the 36v version about 22 mph. The MXUS 48V is quite fast at about 29mph, but won't be such an efficient climber as the Bafang. The 36v version around 21 mph. The two versions of the MXUS are identical. It's just the higher voltage that makes it...

    E-bike controller wiring

For a throttle with battery LEDs, the wires are red 5v, black ground, throttle signal and battery voltage. Measuring from ground when switched on, you'll measure 5v, 0v, 1.2v and 40v. When not connected, the signal wire will be 0v. A 4-wire display has battery level, switched battery level...
