    Bike Lock Recommendations

One would think the bike shelter may be more secure then most that folks use, just use two good locks to secure each wheel. It sounds unlikely that just anyone can gain entry. No matter which lock a determined/ tooled up thief would be through any lock in no time.

Carrera Crossfire e- Mk2 Rear Rim

Any rim can be used that is of the same size, though I know some folks are a bit pedant about matching exactly.

    motor problem

5 magnets just means the signal is slower so takes millisecond or three more to engage. Some 12 poles do give issues so 5, 8 or 10 work better.

Fitting torque arm to rear of carbon frame, can this work?

Good work there, a simple solution looks like it could work. One can make them a little over size as in the pencil drawing in your pic above and extend/elongate the 10mm axle slot . I think once in situ (as they are 5mm steel) they can act as the torque arm on both sides if you can securely fix...

    E-bike for mobility problems

If you want to be 100% road legal then the Wisper certification route is the way to go, they offer it as an option above the cost of the bike. Some of their dealers aren't too clued up on it so speak to Wisper HQ direct. The other option is one can have a throttle activated bike though one has...

    Rear pannier rack help please.

I bought the Thule as it was the only option I found for a rear suspension bike, since I have got rid of the suspension bike as I find hard tail much better.

    How to carry a 2nd / extra battery ...

For belt and braces connections use a schottky diode inline to prevent reverse current flow. XT connectors for me one simply can't connect up incorrectly once soldered right.

    Evans Cycles for ebike service

Now Ashley has the control think akin to Halfords, but as mentioned might be best to give a wide berth. To charge £50 just to decide how much more you need to pay for a bike service is another easy money con, quite shoddy in my eyes.

    Carrera Crosscity E slow?

It uses a speed controller 3 spd so the display might be faulty ,a long shot. Each level is speed programmed to a max speed so approx.7, 11 & 15.5 mph. One can look at the BB cadence sensor assuming that is what is used unless it is an optical type. Check the BB sensor/disc/set up for...

    Evans Cycles for ebike service

Learn to do your on maintenance, I have never yet had a bike in an LBS for any type of repair or service. But I'm old school and we use to strip and repair everything just because we can.

    How to carry a 2nd / extra battery ...

One suspects any fire from paralleling batteries is more down to mismatched SOC's rather then unequal capacities or batteries of differing voltage, a lot of current flows if the voltages aren't very close. I have ran parallel's on my bikes for over 6 years now no issues at all. My Swizzbee...

    How to carry a 2nd / extra battery ...

In one of Guy's programmes they deliberately set an e car on fire by remotely shorting the batteries, fire brigade tested a large fireproof type tarp to cover the whole car. And is more practical then hoisting a car in to a tan of water. As they demonstrated the flames extinguished due to no...

    Brompton conversion Newbee

Nano is quite dear, Woosh bikes do a brommy kit using the 250w aikema hub. If your journeys are short they might even 3D print a base mount for a tool battery for a lighter option. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?hubkits#q70kit

    Help with controller settings pls

You can try going down but I would say try up to 100, the gps speed matching is pretty reliable at getting the setting close as long as you have the correct speed magnet count right which for most is one per revolution.

    Help with controller settings pls

One can also use a gps to get the ratio number quite close as well. Set the cut off speed to 25km/h and use a gps to calibrate, if the two don't concur then adjust the P2 up or down until the display matches as near as poss the gps reading. Without motor specs it is trial and error but you...

    Help with controller settings pls

Try setting the value to 80 -84 to see if that helps, the motor ratio setting is hub reduction ratio x motor magnets. Being an older Bafang hub reduction is likely 4:4:1 with 18 to 20 motor winding magnets. Does the hub have any id on it like swxk etc, etc. If the controller has a separate...
